I’ll check it out and report back.

Update: Definitely more on the hardcore side of the fence but I can see some comparisons to the bands you mentioned. (Loosely)

This album is shaping up to be awesome. Feels like a solid progression from few.

From the remixed version of Messengers. Solid song, solid album.

Used to think Jake was a pretty cool guy until he went public with how he’s buddies with the dude from As I Lay Dying.

Eh, Thrill Seeker is their best album anyways.

Thrill Seeker isn't even in their top 3 albums lol

By their own admission, they were barely good enough to play their own songs at the time. Adam D from KSE produced and mixed the album and would get impatient when they kept messing up during recording so he would just play certain parts.

Also their vocalist was pretty meh and the lyrics on that album are much worse than the later albums

I agree with this and they are very open about the fact that they had no idea what they were doing going into that record and Adam has a lot to do with their popularity from the success of it.

I also agree it’s a good record and arguably one of their heaviest. With that being said, it’s kind of hard to deny how much the band has grown with each successive record.

Let me rephrase that, Thrill Seeker is my favorite of theirs. I saw them live when it came out and they could play the songs well enough. Have they gotten better as musicians? Yeah. But I still like the songs on Thrill Seeker more than the other records.

That being said, I enjoy most of their music and grabbed a $20 ticket during the LiveNation sale so I'll be seeing the Constellations tour coming up.

The last minute and a half of Burn All Your Rock Records melted my face with that groove. Cannot wait for this album

I’m going as well. Looking forward to it! Silverstein is great live as well and I’ve heard Silent Planet is nuts.

Probably a top 5 favorite song of mine. Whenever I'm bored, I find myself tapping my fingers along to that opening beat.

I gotcha. Messengers is my favorite. I know it's not their best but it's the most nostalgic for me and the breakdowns are hard and plentiful.

I was never a huge August Burns Red fan, but the Tim Lambesis apologism was enough for me to mentally write them off completely.

unfortunately all those dorky hardcore christian dudes seem to be all about some nebulous definition of "forgiveness" and "salvation" or whatever other lofty sounding buzzwords they use to justify absolving someone of shitty behavior.

That’s a lot of assuming about his beliefs, etc. I don’t even think they are claiming to be a “Christian” band anymore. With that being said, it is not becoming of him to openly support someone like Tim Lambesis.

I’ve been jamming the 4 songs released together all week. I really love the Halloween influence tone of the album so far. Their lead guitarist has his own niche of writing that is his own now after 6 albums and I love it. Nothing too complicated but 100% perfect for this band and what Schuylar does on the mic.
