I like this album a lot. Not positive it's enough for me to buy it on vinyl though.

 

Hoodie is awesome too. Happy with my purchase.

 

I watched an AVA vid of Tom and Ilan recording some songs and Tom said this weird lyric and Ilan was like "What?!" and Tom's justfication was that it was "80s" and "sexy". Haha. I would love to see Mark and Travis' faces when he proposed some of his stuff. (Not that I'm just being mean to Tom since Mark has bad lyrics too. I just thought it was funny.)

 

Im still bummed that the signed vinyl didn't give the option of either hoodie or t-shirt, I would've chosen the shirt immediately

 

On vacation listening to this album. I'm on the beach (but not California, unfortunately) and this record is perfect to match this type of imagery. Favorites at the moment are "Left Alone", "Los Angeles", "San Diego" and "Sober" (that DnB pattern in the verse is just beautiful).

Really, "No Future" is easily my least favorite. I still like it, but I wouldn't be bummed if it wasn't on the album.

Side note: just by chance, my ex girlfriend posted a picture of her and her new boyfriend seeing The Cure this week so that chorus of "San Diego" gets to me a little extra. Haha.

 

I wonder if I'm the only person who has something with just "Matt" written on it.

To me, 5SOS is the same as 1D - and I knew what 1D was through my girls , before punk hit them.

1D/5SOS will always be connected to me, since they toured together.

Bubble Gum Pop is the way I would think they are both categorized.....

To call them pop punk? I dont think I can.

 

I reaaaallly like Matt's vocals on No Future. Haven't spent enough time with the album to decide on favorites/least favorites but She's Out Of Her Mind is a contender for least favorite right now.

 

Who cares about labels?

 

Matt really kills it on this record I'm happy for him.

Reviews in 2016: where the reviews are more cliche and paint by numbers then the authors claim the music they're writing about could ever be.

 

Are you or anyone on staff reviewing the album, probably the only California review worth reading in my opinion.

I'm writing some stuff. Not much of a review cause I think reviews are by and large boring. But it's something. Dunno when I'll finish it though. Been busy. Next podcast will be about it too.
