I saw them at a similar thing in '09 for Jimmy Kimmel. It's definitely worth the experience, being part of something national like that. I say go - you may not get another chance!

 

So far my favorite tracks are Bored To Death, She's Out Of Her Mind, No Future, and San Diego.. I really dig HISALP, but something about it falls short for me at times, it definitely gives me the feels though.

 

"San Diego" is the best track on here and has shot up to one of my favorite blink songs. Damn, what a fucking JAM.

 

why is the cassette only 18 cents cheaper than the cd? and why did i just order it?

Eh, I already paid for it, might as well enjoy it.

 

Initially, I didn't like Kings of the Weekend or Teenage Satellites too much, but now even those are growing on me. This album is getting better and better.

Since I'm one of the three people in this thread that is waiting for release date to listen to California, I revisited all of blink's records today in order of release.

I got chills during Adam's Song. I heard the growth and maturity in that one song. Simply amazing.

Oh, and Everytime I Look For You is the most underrated blink song EVER. Fucking phenomenonal song with the volume pumped up.

 

It's going to be really fun when the few people holding off until release day come in and are able to chat with us about the album. Anxious to hear their feelings after reading ours for the past week lol

 

Can't wait to join the conversation, my friend. I know BTD and I have been patiently waiting. Cannot wait to give my thoughts with you guys!

 

Also, since my copies were stolen, I'm really excited about the Dude Ranch and TOYPAJ represses this summer.

Me too. Some guy is posting good guitar covers on Youtube with the songs in the background and it sucks having to resist hearing the song in any form lol.

I hope some of the songs are growers. Blink songs have never really been growers to me, always show-ers from the get go. I remember when I heard Anthem Part 2 for the first time, it was played live on TRL. It slapped me right in the face. Music didn't leak like it did now. We needed MTV

 

Been a while since I checked in here. Was not that into No Future. The chorus is just not there for me. Bored To Death and Rabbit Hole were stronger in my opinion. Getting kind of nervous because I like BTD and RH, but I haven't been jumping out of my seat for any song yet. We'll see in a couple days I guess.

 

The chorus on left alone is huge. Best part of the album for me.

 

Surprised to see such high ratings from some. It's easily a mediocre 6/10 album at best for me. The songs have a consistent theme and flow together (which is good) but they all feel somewhat contrived and follow a similar formula (Mark: first verse / Matt: second verse; "nana", "whoa whoa" backing vocals, etc). There's no iconic stand-out riffs like Dammit, Carousel, etc. It's like they went in and did everyhing as fast as possible. No wonder they wrote 30+ songs so fast. It's like Blink's version of the poor Green Day trilogy.

Still trying to get more into the album cos it was my most anticipated of 2016 but so far I'm easily disappointed. There's no song which can serve as a bigger hit than Bored to Death.
