One thing that was weird about BTTB is that they didn't really promote, in a general sense, that they were playing EOTS. It was kinda word of mouth and Mark confirmed it via Twitter, but they didn't do anything official other than that. If they're planning on playing it for the upcoming tour, they should really announce that.

 

I doubt it, they recently said they don’t want to play “the party song” again.

 

Idk if that would bring more people in or push more casual fans away

 

I love taking breaks from this thread and then checking in every few days to see where it’s at in the usual cycle.

Mark’s hair was the inspiration for the Boomer wig haha.

It’s a pretty bold move to play a new/unreleased song on a tv show.

They started playing Mutt as part of their usual setlist starting in April of 1998.

 

You’re wrong, they were with Travis in I want to say fall of 1998. Would have been hard to demo Man Overboard with Scott still around or at the very least awkward.

They recorded Mutt in 1997 (at the same time they recorded I Won’t Be Home For Christmas) for “The Show” soundtrack release.

Mutt yes. Not sure whether Life’s So Boring was actually recorded with Scott or he just helped in writing the song.

 

Man, Travis’ hi-hat work makes the song so much better. Scott half-ass playing those quarter notes really makes it drag.
