Oh ok. Well then hopefully they sign him. Consider me a fan i guess.

Just finished DoN. Good show, really gives them a good base to kick off with. Think Jericho should be the first champ.

The fuck does AEW have its own thread for when this is a general wrestling thread?

Also, I’d love to know what Vince thinks of Dean in AEW. Giving him that big send off and he then signs for the soon to be competition? I bet he is pissed.

Eh, its a holiday show, but people have work tuesday so i don't think that will turn people off from watching. I'm not sure when the NBA Finals start, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a decent bump for Raw, at least in the first and second hour. I'm sure there's interest to see how WWE responds

    Finals start Thursday.

Overall I was insanely impressed by DoN. I was very skeptical going into it that it would just come off as the Bucks and Cody patting themselves on the back the whole time, but no. They just felt like guys who were apart of the company.

Production impressed me too despite the few hiccups. But overall the show just had that clean HD look that WWE has (I think it's all in the lighting) and no one else really does, and that just made the entire thing seem more legit.

I guess I also really like the completeness and the integration of everyone into the roster. Like, Havoc, Jungle Boy, etc... coming out during the MJF segment. Creating the different echelons of their roster was something I thought would come off unnaturally, but I felt like they were very organic about it.

Man, the goodbyes WWE gave Dean seem so much weirder now. Can't get my head around that.

Didn't get to watch live last night, but my thoughts from watching this morning.

I thought production was really well done outside of a couple minor hiccups. Only thing that really stood out was some questionable camera cuts/missed spots, mostly in the battle royal.

Excalibur is going to absolutely carry commentary. While he was way better than the NJPW show, JR has definitely lost a step. Though I still think we could see him back to his old self once they're doing weekly shows and he's a bit more familiar with everyone. Marvez needs to come out of his shell, for sure. Sounded like he was afraid to talk most of the time.

Battle royal was a battle royal. It was fun. 6-man and women's match were both really good. Britt superkicking the bow out of Kylie's hair was one of the cooler shots of the night.

I like Angelico and Jack Evens, but they dress and wrestle like they're two CAWs dreamed up by an 8 year old.

I LOVE that they gave SSB such a big moment, but was so disappointed to see how few people in the crowd knew them. I didn't think a few years away would cause that considering how popular they were getting before the visa issue. In retrospect, maybe they should have given them a few segments or little things in BTE so they would have gotten a reaction.

I thought Cody v Dustin was amazing. I was surprised to read through the thread after I watched it and see how many people weren't enjoying it. Not every match is going to be a technical or high-flying masterpiece and no one should have expected that out of those two. Storytelling matters too and they killed it.

Not a ton to say on the main events. I thought they were both really great matches. Agree with everyone else about too many false finishes in the tag match, but didn't really think it took away from the overall. As much as I love Kenny, I'm pleasantly surprised they're not putting the belt on him right away. Would have been predictable and him maybe winning it in a rubber match with Jericho could be great. Ending with Mox and the reaction it got was fantastic. Excited to see him get to be his own character.

Wasn’t able to watch last night either, is the show still available on B/R live or whatever or is there a good place to stream it elsewhere?

MJF being MJF to the woman delivering his room service is why he's going to be a star.

been thinking about Cody/Dustin all day. that was a near perfect match. the last match i remember feeling that strongly about was Aleister Black/Velveteen Dream.

i think i am one of the larger optimists about the WWE product in here, and as reddit as it sounds, in one night i care about AEW so much more than anything they have lined up. so many dynamic personalities and characters and they are all fired up and hungry. they dont need to compete with WWE, they just need to find a livable niche, keep giving awesome talent a way to make a dependable living, and we all win.

The blood took me out of it slightly because I don’t like all that but I don’t think anyone can argue against how powerful that match was. That’s a match I’d love to show any of my friends who don’t watch wrestling and they’d get it.

i love the blood and i probably shouldn't, i probably am okay with it because ive never heard of a blade job actually incapacitating a guy. seems like everyone who goes for a killer blade job like that is fine immediately after which makes no fucking sense.

Dustin's trajectory has been so fucking interesting. who would've thought he would hit his prime at 50 years old?
