Dustin is claiming that when Brandi hit him with cody's cane there's a wolf head on it and that is what split him open.

 

Also, Cody's press conference last night was cool. 2 hour live tv show and he said that "the other company" runs essentially G-rated content which is great for them but not what AEW will do. He said the blood and middle fingers won't be on TV too much but PPV's will be another step up from TV shows because it is is combat sports and they don't want to hide that.

 

That's good. Don't need to see that stuff every week. It's better when it's controlled and used well rather than often.

 

very curious to see how they operate weekly live TV. like, i wonder if they tour right off the bat or do TV somewhere in Florida every week until they get enough market data on what buildings they can fill in what markets on a regular basis.

 

Cody had a long interview earlier in the week with Chris van vliet that he said it won’t be like Impact where they do all the filming in one spot. TV will be filmed in various locations. Gotta think it’ll hit a lot of NY, Chicago, philly, etc.

 

My thoughts exactly on the bucks match.

 

Yeah the Bucks match went on too long. It felt like the rushed through the greatest hits after the destroyers. It was a good match but they should have reigned it in a bit. That's actually my biggest problem with the Bucks. They're great performers and they can tell great stories with their matches but they too often revert to spot for spot sake matches.

Fenix is a star though. I know Pentagon gets all the hype, but I think Fenix is far better as a whole.

 

This guy is probably my new favorite interviewer. I watch his D'Lo and Rhyno ones and they were just great.

 

Chris and the music blog girl are my 1 and 2. their charisma and appreciation of everything feels so genuine and likeable. Really good to see them both getting big opportunities.

 

Anyone watched the first episode of "The Wrestlers" on Viceland? Cautiously optimistic about the rest of the season, but as someone who doesn't watch Evolve, the first one was really good. A lot of future NXT people in the background.

 

I really enjoyed DoN and if anything, i am kinda more hyped about AEW than i was before. It feels exciting. I enjoyed seeing Mox, Spears, Jericho, Dustin, Omega. And I enjoyed seeing people I didn't know yet like MJF.

I just hope Spears won't job on aew. I really liked him in the battle royal last night.

 

Who’s the music blog girl?

 

So I wanted to keep my expectations low. Like, I’ll always like the in ring work for the most part of AEW. But I didn’t want to get my hopes up. However, seeing the step up from All In that last night was, I’m really pumped and optimistic. It feels like an actual competitor instead of “oh they could compete with wwe” pipe dreams that they were before.

The key for me is that they continue to utilize everyone. My main gripe with WWE story telling is that 1) it’s not good. But 2) it focuses on the same 8 people over and over. So long as AEW focuses on the main roster — which I think they will because Mark Henry asked Cody a question last night about diversity on the roster and Cody said one thing he took from Eric bischoff is the idea of a wrestling buffet so that if you don’t like something you hang with it because you like these other two ideas — I think the in-ring talent will give them the cover-up while they figure out how they want to book things.

Also very glad that it isn’t Omega as champ. Feels like that’d be a safe first champion but now there’s intrigue. Do they give the belt to Jericho because he’s someone casual fans know or do they push behind someone like Hangman and try to build a star immediately?

I’m fully on board. Between this and NXT, it’s a great time to watch wrestling.

 

Will raw have good ratings tomorrow? Because people wanna see if wwe somehow reacts to DoN.

 

Also, Dustin said that he didn’t know Cody was going to ask him to team up at the next PPV. That was spontaneous on Cody’s behalf.

I don’t think so. WWE usually phones it in extra hard for holiday shows.

Maybe a jab via commentary but I don’t expect anything different.

I think Jericho should be inaugural champ. Set the standard and have a heel champ and give him momentum for a while.

The Cassidy guy? Is that fake kicking shit his thing then? Because I saw a clip from mania weekend of him doing that and assumed it was a one off thing. If it’s what he does all the time? Yeah, that will get old real quick.

 

Really enjoyed what I didn’t fast forward through of DON. Ambrose showing up was great, as was the crowds reaction. Looking forward to the inevitable match between him and Omega.
