If what i'm reading on Wiki is true, the Jazz offered him almost double (6/$70M vs. 6/$39M) than what the Cavs offered lol. Even if they did have a verbal agreement, that much more money would have been soooooooooooooo insane to turn down

It has nothing to do with the owner being blind or not...but has everything to do with straight up lying to the franchise to get them to not pick up your option, verbally agreeing to a new deal and then reneging on everything. It's just a shitty thing to do in any business or in any walk of life.

Maybe a lot of you don't remember that because it was 15 years ago, but it caused a lot of controversy to the point that Pelinka resigned from being Boozer's agent. Also, had Boozer waited a year, he could have been offered more money than the Jazz offered him.

The Cavs could have straight up matched the Jazz's offer but chose not to after what he did.

Sources: Boozer's agent resigns after reversal

  5. literally ever siding with an owner over a player, not for me dog

Hahah the Boozer contract. I was a tween posting on the Jazz espn board at that time. Cavs fans were spamming the shit out of it all season. Good times yall. Glad we could take this little stroll.

This paragraph is particular is just sooooooo hilarious and one-sided
Players are always told "you signed the contract you have to live with it!" but then the team will just cut you with no remorse and not have to "live with it"

This isn't the NFL where contracts aren't guaranteed though.

NBA teams just can't cut players without paying them.

It has the same psychological effect, It's about throwing another person's life into chaos and generally not giving a shit about them as human beings and viewing them only in terms of "how much money can you make for me."

It's not about the money for the owners, they're paying the players peanuts compared to what their worth so it really doesn't make a difference that NBA contracts are guaranteed vs. non-guaranteed NFL contracts.

  11. Owners lie to players all the time and fake all that "family" talk and will stab them in the back the moment they can if they think it'll make them more money. Dan Gilbert is famous for what he said about LeBron when he didn't kiss the ring. Boozer did nothing wrong except look out for himself and if that means lying to Dan-Fricking-Gilbert ... he's even more of a hero.

For the record, I’m always players over the owner too.

EXCEPT WHEN MY TEAM GETS FUCKED OVER.

Boozer lied to Gordon Gund. Gilbert wasn’t the owner yet

  14. Even better. Always lie to the inherited wealth of a banker. My point still stands about owners/players.

    Just a friendly reminder

I agree with all of this, except the Bucks will win at least one against the Warriors.

Hell yeah Boozer get that cash buddy

KD needs to quit with cry baby attitude. Steph wasn't arguing with the media when people were saying that the Warriors can't win without KD. He needs to put his focus on getting healthy and playing basketball. Then go out there and ball. Stop with the nonsense on twitter and instagram.

Boozer was only getting a 5 year deal and then was like “AND ONE” and then they gave him the sixth year.

This should be Draymond by a huge margin. He’s one of the key players in a dynasty, that’s the pinnacle. Dwight made one finals and the imploded for years and years.

Draymond still has room to have a messy end of his career but Dwight’s is like the blueprint.

  23. Wait, what, Dwight is easily a hall of famer. Those peak years were ridiculous.

Draymond's not on his level yet.

    5x TRB, 2x blk leader.

2007-2012 was better than anything Draymond's done.

Dwight was nothing but domination for 5 years and even those first two years in Houston he was pretty good. He's a first ballot easily. Draymond I think as well will be first ballot as well but if I had to choose I would say Dwight before Dray.

I am NOT shocked Draymond was winning that poll because Dwights rep gets in the way of what he actually did.
