I’d go with Not Now (sorry Jason). Although if you asked me what song to remove off Untitled for it I couldn’t tell you one

 

One of these things is delicious

 

I like the all the guitar layers on Not Now, the acoustic ones especially. Tom’s voice sounds cool on it. The riff goes hard and I like the melodic, heartfelt chorus even if the more religious-ish “hold my hand Lord now” type lyrics aren’t my bag. The final chorus vocal harmonies are great. I like the song a lot.

I definitely agree Not Now is proto-AVA, along with a lot of untitled Tom songs. Mark, Travis, and Jerry Finn brought a lot out of Tom that he can’t achieve on his own.

 

Minus the spacey intro I don't see how it's AVAish at all. It's way too full and energetic (and well produced). It was on the UK version of the album so it's never been a die hard only "hidden" song to me and I absorbed it with the rest of the album and loved it straight away. I actually find Easy Target pretty boring haha. This whole "people having different musical tastes" thing is crazy! I can't deal with it!

Fav song: lemmings

fav b-side: this is SO hard. It’s a toss up between Don’t Tell Me It’s Over, What Went Wrong, and the instrumental demo from Enema referred to as “Life’s So boring.” Anyone have confirmation from the band that’s the official name of that track? Even Time to Break Up is a jam.

 

There’s an old interview where they reference the song “life’s so boring” by name, yeah.

i'd have to say Don't Tell Me That It's Over as well, very fun and one of the more Enema sounding songs from TOYPAJ. always found those measures that go on longer than expected in the intro to be weird though

Worst lyrics but still really catchy

 

Favorite B side is definitely What Went Wrong. Really surprised it was left off the album however not sure where it would fit if it was on it.

Also count me in on not loving Not Now and not understanding the appeal by a lot of fans. It’s a middle of the road blink song for me.

 

It was a really fun song to hear/sing live even if the song and lyrics are eh.

 

Would have been interesting adding it right after Shut Up and before PTMH
