I don't really listen to the recorded version of I Miss You too much anymore, but it always sounds great live.. First date should go, it's just not a song that Matt sounds good singing live. He killed it on Always though which surprised me cause I thought it would sound weird like FD, glad I was wrong

 

Maybe he's trying to get Travis to join Angels n' Airwaves

 

First Date can easily go. I really don't know what else they could cut, though. They need to play longer sets at this point.

 

If Travis goes off and does something different with Tom, we're gonna have another Box Car Racer vs. Jealous Mark episode.

 

Tom is the biggest attention whore I've ever seen. Anytime the band gets a little distance from him, he demands the spotlight back. Needs to lay low this week and let the band release their album on Friday without him making headlines. I have a feeling that won't happen though.

 

Listening to this more, the na-na's and woah's are a little too much cheese for me in some instances (for instance, love Sober but could do without the na-na's). Can't get into Los Angeles at all. San Diego is such a sing-along though.

 

I wish Travis would just not respond... ha. Oh well.

 

Same. Notice after Tom's tweet to Travis he immediately promotes one of his projects? Not a coincidence. Even while not in blink, he's using them for publicity in his other projects.

 

It's just weird to me. I agree with the post above that he shouldn't do this during their launch week; but I like to see that they're still friends. I'm just surprised that he's talking to Travis and not Mark. Seems like Mark wants nothing to do with him.

 

Initial thoughts: I must be getting old because Home and San Diego are first favs, which also happen to be the slowest. SUPER happy that it's not a total bust - didn't expect it to be but you never know after such a huge shift. Now it's time to deep dive...

Seems like the album opens with Mark stating out right he wants nothing to do with him.

 

It's definitely not happening.

 

Yeah I mean the lyrics suggest that it's completely about the breakup, but also Travis says that the fans might think certain songs are about Tom and they're not.

 

A couple blah tracks but yeah, best stuff they've done since 2003

 

King of The Weekend is the cheesiest song they've ever done but at the same time my favorite moment on the entire record is Skiba's scream right before the 2nd chorus.

 

Blink on Colbert soon then?

 

From what I gather on Reddit Colbert has someone else tonight and they're probably taping it for Friday. Not sure though.

 

More TV appearances, the better. Good Morning America on Friday as well.

 

Can't wait to watch Travis and Tom's waterpark video!

I'm jamming California loud right now working from home and reminiscing some more on the past and the band. Just found few of my blink pics over the years, brief story with each if thats cool with you guys.... if not then I guess I just typed it all out to remember it myself haha. If you're going to read just one story read the last story of me meeting Tom in Florida.

Warped Tour Chicago 2005
-I went to the Indianapolis warped first with my older sister and some friends. Security guard hits on my sister, gives her one of those backstage single day sticker passes. She sits behind Travis throne, literally directly behind him the entire set of The Transplants. After the set, he signs one autograph, signed drum head for me, gets on golf cart and goes away. I go to the Chicago Warped show few days later, kept my sisters warped sticker pass, changed the date with a sharpie and went backstage and Travis was practicing and took the time to stop and talk, he remembered my sister and laughed about the sticker and asked if I wanted to hang out and go on stage but I told him I was going to give the pass to my other friends until we got caught - which we did, after the third friend came in the back haha.



AVA San Diego 2006
-It was my senior year and I flew out to Cali for a weekend to see the last show of the AVA/TBS tour. I hung out with David Kennedy from AVA for a good half hour on a bench just talking sports and shit and he said if it was any other show he would bring me back but it was San Diego so only fam and friends. I eventually saw some dude leaving the show with a backstage sticker pass and he just gave it to me, went back stage and found Tom and told him I came all the way from Indiana and he said "what the fuck, did you swim here?"


+44 Orlando 2006
-This was Travis' first show he was going to be playing one-handed I believe, if not the first then the second. Which was insane to see live with the extra pedal he was using and everything. But the show was at downtown disney in Florida so I felt like I had a good chance of meeting Mark, the only one I hadn't met yet. I got to the show hours before and sat by the back entrance. Getting inpatient I walked to the front and some other fans were like dude you just missed Mark he walked into Virgin Records. So I go inside, can't find him. I'm on the second floor and I take the escalator to go back down, I literally pass Mark as he is going up the escalator and I turn around and run up the escalator backwards as fast as I could to get back up to the second floor-probably looked stupid as fuck haha. He was making fun of this fan who was literally hyperventilating and could not breathe saying "Hello. Hi there. My Name is Mark, M-A-R-K." Was super nice and took a pic with me - also met Travis in the parking lot afterwards but can't find the pic.



AVA Orlando 2008
-I was living down in Florida for school and went to this show a radio station was hosting: Sugarcult, Buckcherry, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Bullet For My Valentine, AFI, TBS, and AVA....I know haha. Anyways, I end up going to this show by myself, so I'm like fuck it - I'll see if I can get backstage. I end up approaching this very attractive chick, and see she's got a wristband for backstage and she was like "Oh you wana meet Tom? Just take this, I'm dating Tim (lead singer of Sugarcult) so its no big deal." So I take it and walk back there, I round the corner and pass Atom and David from AVA and I just kept walking because I just wanted to say what up to Tom and give the girl her pass back. Then David yells out, "Hey man don't I know you from somewhere?" And I said, "Well kind of, we sat on a bench last year in San Diego and talked for a while." And he was like, "Ahh yes you came from Indiana, what the hell are you doing here man?" Told him I was going to school he said, "Hey man come up on stage with Atom and I and watch Buckcherry and then I'll take you back to the trailer." This was like a fucking dream....so I go up on side stage with David and Atom and Buckcherry is playing, all the nasty tits are being flashed, it was hilarious. So David takes me back to the trailer, Tom comes out and is being a clown, definitely in a good mood taking numerous pics with me and making fun of me for wearing the same shirt and then TBS comes flying by on a golf cart and start throwing apples at everything - some shit you would see on a DVD. Then as I walk back trying to come back down from cloud 9 I look over and Davey Havock is siting by himself with a huge salad just preparing himself to give the best performance of the night out of all the bands (AFI came out in all white, all white cabs and instruments and basically played everything you wanted to hear off Sing The Sorrow and the good old jams) - needless to say that was a fucking day I would never forget.
