Yeah I'm 29 and the thought of writing about high school kinda blows my mind haha. Actually, my band is currently writing an EP and the theme of it is literally "getting older" as we're all closing in on 30. We have a song about not being able to party as hard, another about going to shows at our age, another about our friends dying, another about how adulthood isn't as great as we thought it'd be, etc.

 

The older I get the harder it is for me to write lyrics. I'm in a long-term committed relationship, go to therapy, and I'm generally happy now. I've written a handful of songs about getting older, working 9-5 jobs, etc. and I don't want to beat that subject to death. So I don't even know what to write about anymore, which is pretty frustrating, haha.

I feel you. There's not as much motivation because we're generally just fucking tired all the time. I wish I didn't have to work a full time job and a part time job to make ends meet. I'd have so much more time and energy to write!

 

You can buy "To The Stars" stock then write about how you wasted and lost your money.

 

Totally. I wake up at 6 AM every day and so by the time I get home, I can either play my guitar for a bit or I can take a nap... I usually end up sleeping.

They probably don't want to announce anything until they're pretty much finished with the album and can actually give up information that's solid.

It's been one week since the release of "Blame it on My Youth" ... a quick check-in.

Since the last time I checked the numbers, there's been:

2,033,867 new Spotify plays. 401,700 new YouTube plays. 30k new last.fm scrobbles.

The song is now up to #30 on the Alt Radio Charts.

 

That's rad to hear. I definitely went on a BIOMY-inspired blink discography run-thru, and I'm sure plenty of others did.

 

Summer 2016 was a good summer.
