I wonder what all of the villains were doing during the aftermath of Infinity War and the events of Endgame.

I guess, tbf to Ragnarok, it could float between 11 and 16 for me. None of those are super nailed down for me. The ones I have below it are all well below it.

Looking at my list I made during my rewatch, it’s clear I enjoy, generally, the more character driven movies with some comedy vs a straight up comedy that did have character moments. GOTG 1 and 2 rank above Ragnarok though. I guess for me they balance it better than Ragnarok which went full on comedy.

I might like Ragnarok more than GotG tbh

Probably trying to make sense of it or still locked up.

A twitter user who got a lot of stuff right about Endgame said that the MCU has plans for the Thunderbolts with Abomination, Justin Hammer, Ross, Zemo and Ghost as the team and The Leader being a villain.

I don’t know your tastes, but I could see someone who values comedy over character , not in a bad way as every film prioritizes things in some way, feeling that way.

And again, I’m well aware that my feelings on Ragnarok reveal me to be an outlier for that movie.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

Ragnarok is top 3. so is Guardians 1 though, just below it

Always do the right thing. Supporter

Ragnarok is heavier on comedy than the average MCU movie but it is still absolutely character driven

I think GOTG2 is one of the best MCU fans but I don’t know which I like more between it and Ragnorak.

I have no idea. Felt like being snarky. It's too early for me

Unless they go Red Hulk with Ross, there's not a lot of heavy lifting in there. An unreliable weapons manufacturer, a soldier with no power, a politician who's getting on a bit, a character who's trying to cure themselves and a big beige monster.

Ross would have to be the leader IMO. Not THE Leader, though haha

I’d argue the characters take a back seat to comedy. There is absolutely character stuff there, no doubt about it. It’s still a great movie to me. But many character moments fall flat for me with so many followed immediately by a joke or not really addressing it.

Thor finally not falling for Loki’s tricks and getting one over on him was a fantastic character moment.

Taika Waititi just needs to be as prolific as humanly possible because I will never have enough of his work in my life. Easily the single most inspired director hire that Feige has made thus far.

I'll never forget that my uncle-in-law introduced me to him with What We Do In The Shadows, and I'll never get enough of Taika

the character work in Ragnarok is gorgeous. Thor's arc is more complete and satisfying than the four movies he'd been in before that, Tom Hiddleston finally gets to use his full range being Loki. even Banner, Valkyrie and Skurge get arcs and they're not main characters. from Odin's death onward it's clear that it's not just a silly comedy imo

my one Ragnarok take is the scene of Thor, Loki, and Odin in Norway is one of the worst looking scenes the MCU has ever done

just so drab, gray, and washed out

odd because a lot of Ragnarok has some of the best visual stuff the MCU has ever done

You think maybe that was intended since it was Odin's last moments?

I’m sure Ross will be the one to organize the team. He has the ability to pull the strings.

they could have made it look at least visually interesting in conveying moroseness

    it just looked sooooooooooooooooo bad

who knows if they shot it on location, or (more likely) in their Atlanta backlot but it really stuck out to me
