ahhh - album is done downloading, Im looking riiiight at it.

But yes, I'm on eastern time, planning on taking off around 11am tomorrow, I am pretty beat from the wedding tonight. And I wouldn't mind having the memory of first time listen being in the car with her on a sunny day and windows down.

Damn, Cynical is so fucking good. Left Alone chorus, holy shit. Home is pretty good too imo. Those are my favourite things about the album. The rest didn't impress me much, but i think it'll grow on me.

Well he has said before that he doesn't dislike neighborhoods per say, just thinks it could've been better. So he doesn't really 'hate' it

Listening now, random thought. For all the Goldfinger comparisons I hadn't heard anything yet that really struck me as that obvious until I started this record. I feel like cynical could literally be a goldfinger song right in between S/T and Stomping Ground, anyone else hear that? I don't think that's a bad thing, the song is a strong opener.

I figured. I do that sometimes even in person lol. I know someone is joking and I laugh but then correct them anyway or spew some random fact. Because I'm weird

Would be hilarious if Tom published a track by track review of the album and what he would have added.

The Offspring and Bad Religion do that a lot.

Dexter Holland of The Offspring joking said at one point that it's probably helped them garner such a foreign fanbase because it's the only words they can understand haha

So guys, when the full band kicks in at the end of the track California. Am I the only one getting serious Toto - Africa vibes? Haha, love it!

Cynical has wonderful drums, really reminds me of an old blink tracks. Once Skiba comes in, the track really builds. I enjoy the song. Could certainly be another verse longer

Bored to Death is good, I think it follows to closely to "Crimson" for me to enjoy it too much. Not a big fan of that style/album, but the pre-chorus is certainly great. The actual chorus has grown on me a lot.

She's Out of Her Mind has a TOYPAJ bassline to begin it. The vocals are a bit poppier, not a fan of the "anti-social" pronunciation, but the chorus is nice. Simple, clean. Keys and breakdown are fine, a bit bland. My favorite so far.

Los Angeles Did Tom create this intro? The fuck is happening? Not a fan of this at all. Matt sounds huge but I don't like the style. It reminds me of Centuries by FOB, a song I hated. The later choruses as the song builds are better, but I don't really like this song

Sober is catchy off the bat. Don't really need the Na Nas in there. Catchy, simple, decent. Could see myself singing along to this. Piano breakdown with the drums brings me back, a fan of this.

No Future has an old school Enema era blink intro. I enjoy it a lot more than I did on first listen. Chorus is catchy, enjoy it.

Home is Such a Lonely Place Not a blink song at all, but one that fits into current pop punk. I enjoy this a lot, surprisingly. I wish the lyrics were better. Mark and Matt sound great on it.

Kings of the Weekend throwback Enema song. Mindless, forgettable.

Teenage Satellites Woah, Mark and Matt really do play against each other well in this opener. Up until this point I felt it was a bit too similar. Nice to hear Matt carry a track.

Left Alone The bassline in the beginning is nice, could've used a Cure-like intro. Chorus is big, which the verses were a bit less, tbh. Looking at the rest of the album at this point, it's a bit long.

Rabbit Hole Fine. Heard it, chorus is catchy. Much better than the first listen.

San Diego Interesting guitar intro. Idk about the chorus. Reminds me of a Crimson song again, it's okay.

The Only Thing That Matters Really like the intro/Mark and Matt in this. Definitely a pick me up after the past few songs.

California Poppy intro. Cheesy, not a fan really. Chorus is forgettable

Overall, it was a pleasant listen. Some songs will be forgettable, some songs I enjoy, none really scratch any itch I've been looking for. It's fine, not a bad record but I don't see myself playing it a lot.

I liked reading this, and I respect your opinion and don't want you to think that I am saying you are wrong about anything, but I don't understand. You say it doesn't scratch any itch you are looking for. Are you talking about in general or just Blink? Because if it is just general, I understand, but if it is Blink, I want to say that this is the closest thing to Blink we have gotten in over a decade, and that is strange to me if so. Is it their best album? No, but, as someone who loves Blink and is in my top 5 favorite bands, this is better than anything they would have ever done with Tom. Matt really has revitalized these guys.
