Thinking Disney+/Hulu combo (Disney now owns 60% of Hulu and could use it for their more Adult centered programming) is gonna be the way to go before too long. Especially with how often Netflix is raising their prices.

I mean with the amount of content it'll probably have at launch and all of the stuff planned and ready to go, $7 a month is a great deal imho.

way better than the almost $20 Netflix is charging for mostly sub par content.

It's literally going to be impossible for me to not sign up for Disney+ at that price. Plus, I mean, The Mandalorian looks like it's going to be amazing.

I still use Netflix for someone of its original content (Sabrina, OITNB, Santa Clarita Diet, a couple others I can’t think of right now and now incoming Lucifer). If it wasn’t for those, I’d have canceled when the Marvel shows got canceled.

I pretty much just have Netflix for Bojack at this point. Once that's done (probably this next season), I'm out.

I only use netflix for Stranger Things, documentaries and to re-watch the same 3 shows I have been for the last couples years. It's a problem.

  16. Regarding the team-up moment for all the women, yes it's bit pandering and forced, but so are so many other scenes in the MCU. I loved it. You really get reminded of how many cool female characters there are in the MCU, despite often being relegated to the sidelines and smaller roles. When that scene started, I just thought about all the young girls and women who would see that and get the feeling of joy I probably felt watching the Cap-Thor-Tony moment. That alone validates that scene's existence. It's also just a cool scene in general.

Seeing this for the 2nd time on Fri. Gonna be a long week of anticipation.

I thought it was pretty good. Not enough Brie though and I was hoping the Thor really let himself go bit was gonna last for a maximum ten minutes

It is easily as pandery/forced as avengers assemble and if you weren't there for both moments then boo you lol

Breaking news: 22nd entry in cinematic film saga will contain characters and references from past films without giving all of them an introduction, despite the character already being in past films which many, many people have seen.

Good filmmaking means making every individual film work as a standalone experience, regardless of how much it also builds on the past & is potentially elevated by knowing that past. If a film isn't a satisfactory standalone watch, that's a failure.

Not that failures within a film make the film a total failure, & not that fans can't love it. Movie quality is a complex web of various variables, each w/ varying levels of subjectivity vs objectivity. But, writing off criticism of that sort is lame. It's valid & worth noting when commenting on a film w/ any level of nuance & depth.
