i freaking wore out The Underdog EP. that was my introduction to them, and even though it's been what, 14 years or so since i first heard it, that EP will always hold a special place in my heart. each and every song on it is amazing.

i had tickets to the houston farewell show and i had to skip it because my first child had been born a few days before and we brought him home from the hospital a few hours before the show. figured leaving him and the wife for a show would probably be a bad idea. but the silver lining was when a few weeks later i got to watch their NYC show on yahoo live with the baby asleep in my arms. sadly i'll be at a friends wedding the night of yellowcard's last houston show. i may just get drunk and hit repeat on the Underdog EP the entire way home.

When I think of my "favorite bands," Yellowcard don't usually come to mind. But fuck, I'd be hard pressed to find more than a few artists who have released a bunch of songs that have meant as much to me as "Back Home," "The Sound of You and Me," "Always Summer," "Southern Air," "Ocean Avenue," and "Lift a Sail." Seriously, all "huge life moment" songs for me. Fuck, I'm going to miss these guys. They'll never be gone, though: I'll probably continue closing out every summer with "Back Home" for the rest of my life.

So many emotions because 1) Yellowcard is leaving me and 2) The video has a picture of The Chameleon Club in it and that's my place.

This messed me up in all sorts of ways. $50 later though got the vinyl with the floral shirt on the way. Like what's been said before though, Lift a Sail is one of their strongest. Illuminate is my favorite YC song. Also here's a question for all of you, what song do you think they should end with? MCS ending with The Future Freaks Me Out and anberlin ending with (*fin) was perfect.

"Miles Apart". It'll probably be a big single, but lyrically, that'd be perfect.

Selfishly they close with October Nights. Realistically I think it has to be an epic old-school crowd participation version of Ocean Avenue.

Damn, one of the very few bands that I like in the "scene." I've always loved their music and they all seem like great people too. Gonna try to see them both on Warped and their final tour. I've never seen a band knowing it was going to be my last time seeing them before so that will probably be a weird experience.

Looks like I only like about three or four active pop-punk bands now...

Lyrically their new song RIP would be great. I'm kinda hoping for Back Home. If they played California as their last song I'd probably shed a tear or two. I'm hoping for a great set list. I've seen them several times and I don't think they've ever played a song from Underdog or One For The Kids. Would like to see at least a song from each.

MCS's new album is pretty good. Not what fans wanted but I enjoyed several songs off it. Would rather have that album than not. Though unlike Yellowcard I think MCS's fanbase is getting smaller and smaller. They can sell out anniversary shows but I don't know what the turn out would be like if they were just doing a regular tour. YC has been consistently selling out the same room where I live.

No Ohio dates on this tour? Detroit looks like it's on a Saturday so may have to make the drive out there. Yellowcard was the first real concert I went to, definitely want to see them one last time.

We should try to get @Meerkat in there to drum so she can hook us up in every city! lol

I do wonder what the set list will look like on the final tour. Clearly it's a tour promoting their last album but since it's also the FINAL tour they need to have a well rounded set list that spans over their entire career (in my opinion).

This should definitely be the next topic for "perfect set list" or whatever that game is.

Exactly the same for me. Although I did think Southern Air was pretty good, but they just weren't the same to me when they came back. But the four albums you listed are super special to me. Good memories of wearing out Ocean Avenue on Cape Cod beaches in the summer.

I still remember hearing "Way Away" and "Believe" on my older brother's iPod back when Ocean Avenue came out.

    Arghhh.
