I will admit to deleting short intros that don't serve much purpose b/c they're either short snippets of dialogue or "atmospheric"/"ambient" instrumentals. For instance: a few Offspring and AFI albums, the one on that Midtown album, Unwritten Law.

Hit the nail on the head. I am still learning to love songs from albums I listened to 10 years because of this, but like you said, it would mess with my OCD as far as album completeness if I deleted anything, so I just have to hit skip if I don't like it. But there is nothing like a good old fashioned skip at the right time if the track doesn't fade into the next song.

I didn't mind Rabbit Hole and No Future, but they are by far my least favorite in the album. Don't have favorites yet, but im on my second listen and loving it. I am really enjoying what matt brings to this record.

i'll admit "San Diego" feels like it's about Tom and that made it very powerful

 

After four listens, I have decided San Diego is my favorite song.

 

The only song I don't like is Rabbit Hole. I am a huge Tom fan but in terms of Blink 182, I hope Skiba is here to stay.

 

For the first time in years I just thought to myself, "this is going to fuck up my last.fm play count so good."

 

Still catching up on the 18 pages I'm behind on.

Daughter was born today, which means California is my soundtrack to the whole experience. I couldn't be happier about it.

For what it's worth: Amazon now has AutoRip if you purchase the physical CD, which means you get the digital copy as well as receiving the album on release day (with Prime at least). I cancelled my digital preorder and did this!

Thanks! This was our second child (first girl). Everyone's healthy. Can't ask for more. Listened to the first half of the album in the hospital cafeteria. I'll never forget hearing Cynical blaring on my headphones while eating some shitty chicken fingers. haha!

 

I had shared it with a friend and it was blocked. So I don't think it's around. It compared their 2014 Reading performance to the Firefly one on Sunday if you wanna look up the individual vids though.

 

Had a realization earlier. Isn't it funny how all of these people have been complaining about the direction of the songs and placing the blame on everyone (Mark, Feldmann, Patrick Stump, all the co-writers).......yet they say nothing about the NEW SINGER OF THE BAND?

Just a testament to how great Matt is on this album and how respected he is.

Second. Our son is two. This is our first girl. I came home late tonight to stay with him while he sleeps. Leaving it to the nurses to help my wife overnight this time around. Finally able to dig into the last half of this album though!
