Idk, if you want your QB you take your QB no matter what. I'm fine with the Giants taking him at 6 if they legitimately believed he would not be there at 17.

Sure maybe it's a GM's job to know when he would've been taken but if you get your QB and he's good it doesn't matter.

I agree but lots of picks are D-grade in terms of value even though you still got a good player. You're not grading Daniel Jones.... you're grading the fact they could've got somebody WAY better than Dexter Lawrence with that pick, and then STILL got Daniel Jones.

Instead they reached for their QB and then reached for a nose tackle haha.

The main reason I think it's so bad: the Redskins totally smokescreened them into thinking they were gonna trade up to take him first. When all along they preferred Haskins and everyone and their mother knew it.

I guess Miami not taking a QB was a surprise though. Maybe they wanted Daniel Jones and that's why they instead took Wilkins when he was gone. So I won't rule it out.

That's true as far as right now goes. I guess I'm just saying that later if Daniel Jones ends up being a 1st team Pro Bowl QB/All-Pro QB no one's gonna worry about whether or not he was a reach and Gettleman will be praised for picking him at all.

But I think you're right that Washington smokescreened the shit outta the Giants.

Yeah this. You can’t really take the next best QB in the same way you can take the next best DL in a stacked DL class. If the QB you get sucks, you’re unemployed unless you’re Elway

I dislike the pick because I don’t like Daniel Jones more than Haskins or Lock, not because it was 6 instead of 17

 

Jones is definitely better than Lock

 

Yea but you can argue getting jones at 6 vs getting lock in the 2nd or 3rd round

 

I’ve tentatively talked myself into Drew Lock

My perfect Drew Lock scenario is that he lands in Cincinnati, Zac Taylor runs some sort of not stale offensive scheme, and Lock eventually takes over the starting role when Dalton has a couple game stretch of being bad, and then he’s in the best position to succeed of any of the top 4 QBs.

LAC is another good one as the heir apparent to Rivers

If he lands in Denver, I am a lot less excited about Lock

There was some bizarre rumors they could potentially Ramsey leading up to the draft, no idea where it came from but ESPN analysts were talking about it a few days ago
