I found FF VIII in my childhood bedroom on Easter and didn't know I ever owned it? Time to bring my PS1 or PS2 to my apartment and play through it...

 

that's........ an interesting story

 

VIII is fine people who complain about the draw system are babies

 

The completionist stuff is definitely an absolute nightmare

I didn’t mind the plot, it’s definitely cheesy and lame but it almost felt deserved after all Yuna went through in FFX. It was just fun for me all around, but I can see not liking the plot. I just love Spira a lot

I don’t think it’s the best, I do love it a lot and think it gets more harshly criticized then it should

 

I just never liked the "side-game but not mini-game" parts of FF games (FFXII running around going "I'm Basch!", FFVII staying in marching rhythm, FFVIII jumping between trains) and a lot of X-2 felt like an entire FF game revolved around things like that. The main plot I didn't think was TERRIBLE but the side plots that went with it were so horrible and still basically essential.

 

I also don't think X-2 really ruined FFX as much as people claimed though

 

I’m playing through X again right now and I’m typing this in between dodging FUCKING LIGHTNING STRIKES.

 

Yeah the backlash of people saying it completely tarnished FFX was a bummer to me. I get your complaints with it, it’s been a while since I’ve played it so I’m curious if I still feel the same about it

 

I played it recently, it like...kinda sorta holds up? Idk. It's a mediocre FF game overall but nowhere near the shitstain people claim.

Would put it above FFII and FFXV

 

I don't understand how a sequel can ruin an original game personally.

I finished X a couple months ago but I will never have the patience for that or the skill for the chocobo race

 

It's honestly less of a grind custom making a weapon for Lulu than it is doing the bolts

I think Xenosaga 2 & 3 came pretty close to ruining the perfection that was the first game.

 

Hmmmm to replay FFX or to not replay, that is the question.

Yeah i seen those!! Reviews are hit or miss. I remember FFXV having bad reviews and I bought it twice!

 

I'm thinking about buying FF6 for mobile. I have the PS version on my Vita but the translation isn't great and there's load times and it doesn't handle that well on the Vita
