If you're looking forward to getting some sleep tonight, do NOT visit the blink subreddit. Thank me later.

    and a little jingle...

Only moment worthwhile is the bridge on this imo. This feels like a complete cash-in, low effort, phoned in, album to me.

I'm sorry, but this was a very boring song that dragged on for too long. Also honestly the other songs weren't that great either.

Which is sad because I was willing to give this new band a chance. I'll still check out the album, but now I have even lower expectations =/

Edit: I also want to say that this song sounds like a MCR song which is a major bummer for me because I couldn't really get into that band.

All three songs have been good not great. Blink has built a loyal fanbase and deservedly so, but if you heard these same songs from band X, I doubt they would be received so favorably. Just my view. I'm looking forward to the album just like most of you but I just don't see how these tracks stack up against stuff off of Enema of the State or whatever old Blink album you compare it to.

I really like Neighbourhoods, in particular Wishing Well, Kaleidoscope, and Ghost on the Dance Floor. I would say it's my favourite blink album next to TOYPAJ. I agree all the new songs sound like +44 b-sides although I do like Bored to Death.

Really like this. Matt's vocals are the best thing about this. Better than Rabbit Hole for sure.

Pretty much. I was much more interested in "Untitled" Blink than pop-punk Blink. Unfortunately every song released so far makes it seem like just a generic (if catchy) record. It's unfortunate.

To all the people that keep referencing a comparison to +44... it sounds nothing like that album. That record used COMPLETELY different guitar tones, electronics, and production techniques. Just because Mark and Travis played together on that album does not make it an obvious comparison to the new Blink album.

Man, that's a spot on comparison (though I would add that it sounds like good Mest). I knew it sounded familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it.
He really does. This is the first song where I hear the "Alkaline Trio"-style tones, and I think it adds a good dynamic to the songs. It's like Alkaline Trio with a hint of Goldfinger...which I much approve of.
Seriously? You didn't even like the S/T?

Dear thread, shutup. I cant take it no more.

  15. Oh, wow, I actually thought this was the best of the three songs released so far by a significant margin haha. Guess that's what I get for not typically being a Blink fan.

Bored To Death is still my favorite so far - and not just my favorite of the three, but I think it's a really good song overall! :heart:However I wasn't a fan of Rabbit Hole, and unfortunately I'm not a fan of this one :-/ The only saving grace is as everyone else pointed out, Skiba's vocals (the bridge was excellent).

What I'm interested in hearing is a Blink-182 track that only has Skiba vocals on it. Because of course, there's songs that only featured Tom singing, so I'm assuming they'd do the same with Matt since he's Blink now. But, can you confirm or deny that @Jason Tate ? :-)

It's kinda strange to me that some people seem to be listening to Blink for their "thought provoking lyrics". They just write fun songs.

Eh, what you and others call regression, I call a return-to-form. Or at least a return to their roots. The Untitled album will always be a classic and will in all likelihood stand alone as the band's definitive artistic triumph when all is said and done (it's easily their best work from a purely objective perspective and I know I for one spin that record all the time), but Mark and Travis don't want to pursue that sound anymore. And I don't think anyone can argue that Neighborhood, despite having some solid tracks on it, was "progression" in the wrong direction. I'd rather they made a pure pop-punk throwback album than continue down that road.

I'm not sure Neighborhoods is a fair comparison just because of the non-sense surrounding it like them being in different studios, the huge disconnect between the band and etc. That might just be me trying to justify this whole situation though. I'm starting to realize that I might just be one of those people who are having a hard time dealing with the fact that I'm not into this type of music anymore.

I'm just comparing their sonic evolution from pre-Untitled to Neighborhoods to now. Whatever the nonsense surrounding Neighborhoods, there was just as much nonsense surrounding California, perhaps even more so. This is just the direction they've chosen, and yeah it's not going to be for everyone (which I'm learning to be true more and more every time I see people talk about how they've outgrown pop-punk). I don't know that I ever will stop being into this type of music, though (I'm 25 and it's been 13 years or so and counting for me), so I'm fine with it. Still, I can understand how others aren't.

I really like this song. I definitely think it's catchy and that matters most to me. Is it the most profound lyrics you'll ever hear, no, but is it a good song, I would say yes. To each his own, I guess.
