I wasn't surprised that she went home, the producers didn't give her a story at all while she was playing. When they went to tribal 30 minutes into the episode though, I was surprised.

 

Such a fun tribal, best of the season I think

 

Yeah, my girl was like what, no reward challenge?! Worth it though.

 

Feel like they’ve been cutting out the reward challenge a lot the past couple seasons

 

Did they do a reward challenge this week and then cut it to have more tribal drama, I wonder? If that's the case, I wish they'd still post it on YouTube/CBS.

 

Yeah I watching with dad and we were like “is this a immunity or reward” cause it was nearly done with 35mins left of show
We later realised why they needed that spare time. What a tribal!

 

Double elimination episode!

 

That was a lot of big things that happened to squish into a double episode

 

Yeah it was a decent episode but I hope the rest aren't paced that quick. How are they going to slim this jury down? are we just gonna have a giant jury? This is my first season watching the show since like season 25 or so, have they had a jury this big before?

 

There are 3 more episodes till the finale. 8 survivors left. So it's probably a 5 person finale with an EoE returnee.

 

So Kelley Wentworth, she keeps the idol in her pocket? Or does it go back on main island ?

 

I read something when Aubry got voted off that her advantage was no longer valid so I'd imagine the same rule would apply. It would be crazy to see her come back and then use it later in the game.

 

The idol is dead. If you are voted out with an idol it's dead, regardless of any extinction shenanigans

 

I love how much time Reem is getting in the Edge and after credits scenes lol. Gotta give her some credit for staying there since the first week with really no chance of winning.

 

Oh my god. This season rules.

 

Devens is pretty damn fun to watch, don't know how long he can keep this up though

 

His play of the advantage menu and dressing down of Ron and Julie was very well-played. But you have to think that the second he's vulnerable he's out.

 

Yeah, preview made it seem like some edge of Extinction madness next week which would be well timed with Devens being on the bottom.

Only 2 weeks left.

 

I know it's doubtful but I really hope Rick can pull it out somehow.

Prior to this season, I hadn't watched Survivor is 20 years probably, but am I the only one that feels like the format of the show is off? Sure, tribal council is fun to watch, but the rest of the show is just competitions for food/immunity. They spend months on an island, trying to "survive" the elements and each other, but very little of that is actually shown on TV. Same for everything happening at edge of extinction. Just seems like we should see more of their day to day interactions/struggle. I dunno... obviously, they've figured out what works best for TV, but is every season like this?

 

Pretty much yeah. I agree with you, the competitions are easily the least interesting part of the show for me. They’re all the same and I find myself checking my phone through almost all of them. There are exceptions, like there was this one challenge last season that lasted for like 5 hours and one of the contestants was basically filibustering Jeff and just wouldn’t stop talking, trying to get in everyone else’s heads. It was amazing, but stuff like that is rare and I do wish they would shake up the format a bit to show more camp life.

 

It's basically the first few eps show some camp life as people are getting to know each other and it serves not just as the exposition for them getting to know each other, but us, the audience as well. Then once they know each other they just sit around and chat, I feel like they do a good job of showing any fireworks on the island or showing when something happens but I feel like, for the most part it's a lot of just sitting around.

IE. They showed Chris killing that sting ray a couple eps ago. Probably the most exciting thing that happened those 2 days on camp. They show the hunting for idols although I am sure there is a lot more of that goes on that they don't show.

I wouldn't mind seeing more on Edge of E but at the same time every time they show it they are all just sitting there looking glum so maybe there isn't anything going on?
