My official prediction is Preds in 16.

 

I want to know why folks are so high on Vegas going into the playoffs. I know Fleury can carry a team (and maybe that's the answer to my question), but this is a team rolling into the playoffs 3-5-2 in their last 10, and they only won one game (vs Edmonton) in their last eight. Subban was in net for a chunk of those, but they also only scored 15 goals in those eight games. That's the opposite of how you want to be rolling in.

my assumption:
- Fleury is better than Jones and goaltending really matters in the playoffs
- San Jose is 3-6-1 in their last 10. technically worse than Vegas!
- who knows how healthy Karlsson actually is

 

A very good team that made the finals last year improved their roster even more. Their point totals don't reflect their excellent fancy stats. And their backup goaltending is perhaps their only flaw, which is minimal compared to some of the issues other WC teams have.

 

There is an absolute clown that works at our warehouse named Donald. He knows absolutely nothing about sports but pretends to be an expert. He KNOWS I basically study hockey and still insists on bullshitting me. I have a picture of Zetterberg in my cubicle and he said that it was his favorite player.. Derrick McCarthy..

Anyways we're doing picks on the white board and he picked Columbus over Tampa Bay. His reasoning? While Tampa is a "decent team" there is just something about that darn Columbus team in the playoffs..

Yep. The same team that's never won a playoff series.

Dallas upsets Nashville
Pens series and leafs series go to seven, pens win, bruins win
Calgary makes it to the wcf then gets swept because mike Smith
Lightning win the cup in under 21 games
I vomit every time Pierre says something about the penguins and or Crosby
Caps pens will be a boring series

Just got back from a car dealership where the manager was dressed in head to toe Lightning gear but when I asked him if he was going to the game tonight he said "isnt it in Columbus?" so I just walked away because I have no time to deal with poser idiots.
