Bouncy, punky British hardcore from Gutter Knife.

I kinda hate how much I like KL but the new song goes

    Why?

    They are a good band.

Idk, most of the first record is just one long breakdown, which is fine! But it's like eating candy - it's good but it gets old.

I will say though that the guitar work is more interesting this time around. It's more dissonant while still grooving.

Hardcore music repetitive? I’ve never in my life heard such a thing!

I’m a lot more into the melodic, punk-y side of hardcore than the metalcoreish stuff, but KL knows how to write good songs

I don’t know. When I heard Laugh Tracks for the first time, I thought of all the original metallic hardcore bands on early Ferret/Trustkill and said: “Wow! This band has done their homework!”

I love and respect both forms of it. The more hardcore the better!

Yeah I mean don't get me wrong I definitely like it, but it's a strictly gym record for me

Isn’t that all hardcore though? ;-)

I don’t picture anyone sitting in a recliner with a bottle of wine letting a hardcore record “simmer”.

It depends tbh! Like, I'm not necessarily listening to later Blacklisted records at the gym or anything.

Don't recreate the scene, or reinvent the meanings Supporter

The singer was on a few podcasts between 2017 and 2018 and I was very impressed. Hearing him talk about what they do to keep their fragile local scene going back home was cool. And then to hear how much him and the band are music grave diggers was neat. Those dudes know their stuff. For how young he is, to hear him name niche bands from the past and recite hardcore history off the top of his head was impressive. That band is doing it for the right reasons for sure and has a lot of stamps of approval from other bands. I’m glad bands like them, Turnstile, Angel Du$t, and Code Orange are grabbing younger people’s attention. I think it’s a great thing.

Laugh Tracks was ok but the Pop Culture EP/Damaged Goods split are great.

  18. Knocked Loose sounds like Knocked Loose, and I am very here for it.

This new Knocked Loose track + the Warriors cover are the first tracks of theirs I've actively dug. The beatdown schtick isn't usually my thing, but when it's done well, it's done well. Hat's off, boys.

Saw The Warriors with Set Your Goals damn near a decade ago, never bothered to listen any further. The song is pretty good though

I’ve always meant to listen to the Warriors because I love the Parkway Drive song the singer featured on.

This KL 7” is great. I wasn’t convinced on them around the time Laugh Tracks came out, but I’ve come to enjoy them more and more since.
