Random question, anybody here have the Kinect for Xbox one and care to share their thoughts on it? I was thinking about getting it for Xbox fitness but was wondering if it's got much value outside of that. My bad if it was discussed in page 74 or something...

 

I am the perfect guy to respond as I have a Kinect and I use it for Xbox Fitness. If you use it for Xbox Fitness make sure have a fairly large space for it to pick you up. Beyond that, it is much better than the 360 Kinect. You can use to auto sign in and I have a friend that plays all the Dance Central games and he says it is great. I think it really boils down to what type of games you play. I got mine with my Day ONE Xbox but I know they don't sell them with the consoles anymore. I hope this helped a little.

 

The other side of that coin... I have never used my Kinect for a game even once. It's awesome for voice controls and shit like that but mine also came with my Day One Xbox, not a chance I'd buy if it didn't come with my xbox. I also don't have a big enough space to do something like Xbox Fitness

What do you think of fitness and do you think the Kinect adds to it? It seems like some of the bigger programs (p90x, for example) are condensed so I wonder if it's worth it.

That's a good point. I don't think I'd even be considering Kinect if it weren't running for only 50-60 on eBay... I play mostly racing and sports games so outside of fitness I think most of the value for me is in auto sign in and that stuff.

 

The P90x program is really good IMO. It's an additional in game purchase but it's about an hour and it gives you a good workout. There are some free ones on there that are good as well and last about 20 minutes. The recognition is really good and works about 95% of the time and gives you an outline of yourself and if you are too far or close it will tell you.

 

Got my Xbox One Day One with the Kinect. I love it. Auto sign, voice controls (especially for Netflix/Plex) and turning Xbox one with voice are all really awesome. A couple games used it in interesting ways like Ryse and Dead Rising 3, not many did though. All in all, I don't hate, have it hooked up and probably won't unhook it. But I dunno if I'd pay extra for it. I sort of had to and have enjoyed it, but I definitely understand why some think it's pointless

 

Apparently there's a 30-day program that comes with the did set's calendar and diet plan, so that's been catching my eye. Is that what you're referring to? I was confused by what you meant by it being an hour.

Yea, I think the voice controls are enticing. Like I said earlier, I don't think it's worth the full price but I could see those nifty features being something I'll look back at later and think "yea that was worth it," haha

Yeah I only use my Kinect for voice commands. I also have D4 and apparently it uses it but haven't played it yet

Forgot how good the Wolfenstein campaign is, killing Nazis will never not be satisfying.

 

Media server app on Xbox. I set it up on my PC, set up my 4TB hard drive as my server, where all my movies are located, then you can access them and play them on your Xbox One.

It is awesome!

 

The New Order was great but The Old Blood was kind of meh. But a nicely done prequel.

Ok all you PS4 people. There is a Square Enix Sale right now and they are having a sale on the some of the PS ONE Classics. Can those be played on the PS4?

Also, the Cross-Buy games. They say for PS4/Vita. They would work on both I assume and you would technically get them on both platforms? I do not own a Vita nor do I ever plan on getting one. I am just asking in regards to being able to play them on the PS4.

 

Nope. You can filter by device in the psn store for the games that are playable on the ps4.

Unfortunately all we're left with is FFXIV and FFX/X-2 in the sale.

 

They should say if they are. But I think most, if not all, are.

Is Overwatch worth getting if I'm not super into FPS games? (I think Battlefront and Bioshock Infinite were the last FPS games I played)

Does it transcend just being an FPS or is it kind of just run of the mill FPS with a different facade?

I'm going to have like $70 of Best Buy certificates and I'm trying to figure out what game to get for free lol
