People forget that Utah has like three 2nd round picks and cap space, they can trade back into the 1st if they really wanted to.

 

2nd round picks are useless but some team in the mid to late 20s may want to drop down.

Hard to imagine they couldn't have done better with pick 12.

 

This draft is widely regarded as pretty weak outside Simmons and Ingram. Most of the pool are seen as role players at best, so I'm not really sure you can get a great haul with the #12.

 

I agree with that. But Hill isn't even a need for them. He has one year left? Are they really going to resign him with those young guys?

 

doubt it. but they have enough guys they are trying to develop right now and they were 1 win away from the playoffs last year. this is management trying to push them to the next step this season versus bringing in another 19 year old.

 

Weird trade for the Pacers. I don't hate it, as Teague is talented, but he's not more talented than Hill that they needed to go out of their way to acquire him.

 

Why wouldn't they? They don't have to extend anyone for another year or two, he's going to be 31 and isn't getting a ton of money. They're full at every other position, whoever they took was going to get benched anyway. Dennis Lindsey does good things.

I feel bad for the Hawks, mostly. They're without Teague, and don't even get Hill. Is there anyone in this draft that can feasibly be available at 12 to be a starting PG on day one of the season?

I guess they can move other pieces to acquire one, if not.

 

Schroeder will start, they'll take bpa and groom that person Spurs style. What they need most is to take a wing to pair with millsap, maybe lawawu. They also have 20 to take a random foreign guy or even pair both for a trade up, who knows.

Draftexpress Wade Baldwin going at #12, I could see that being the guy the Hawks are after.

Jazz could be on their way up with a decent PG now, though.
