I haven't played it yet but Oxenfree is another 2D story driven game that a lot of people like and I see mentioned alongside NITW. maybe Firewatch too?

Night in the Woods is so great

I'd recommend Oxenfree, absolutely loved that one and it's in the same sort of vein as NITW.

Firewatch is also another one I'd recommend, not as good as the other two IMO but still great

if it’s any consolation NITW goes on sale frequently, the sale price is 13.99

bought it on sale for 4.99, what a steal. i played it in 1 sitting. i enjoyed it a lot.

Finally got an SD card for my Switch. Is it possible/worth going through and archiving everything and re-downloading it to the card or no?

    yeah good okay Prestigious

today I found out that getting better ratings on Wargroove maps is entirely tied into the the number of turns it takes to complete the map. Not units defeated or units lost. Kinda dumb. Then it's all about speed and not really about tactics.

advance wars had a formula for this, wherein your rating is also dependent on tactics which is basically the amount of units you built vs lost.

so 1 technique is to just mass produce cheap units so that losing more units doesn’t drag the rating down that much.

tbh i dont know what the fix for this is. but i agree basing it only on speed feels a bit limiting

I knew number of turns mattered, but assumed that combined with losing units affected your rating. this kinda changes the entire way I've been playing

i guess one possible solution is to compute for efficiency. like computing the total value of units in gold. and then comparing it to total damage received in terms of gold.

but then units lost vs units damaged has to be factored in, because repair is a thing. but some strategies might involve letting units die. so idk. rabbit hole!

1 more thing Valkyria Chronicles 1 also does the same thing, rating is based on the speed you finish the mission so most people just sprint towards the goal lol

alternatively, knowing that I can sacrifice units without hurting my rating is kinda freeing
