‘Sopranos’ movie gets release date and a new title ... ‘Newark’

This movie deserves it's own thread, I'm sure all my fellow Soprano fans are very excited about this like I am.

I liked The Many Saints of Newark as a title more but

he looks fantastic, but the name change and all the press about him are making me worried they're restructuring this movie to make it all about young Tony Soprano. might be nothing but I have a sneaking feeling

 

He doesn't have the makings of a varsity athlete

Maybe they’ll switch roles midway through like the Always Sunny gang doing Lethal Weapon

 

I dont really think id hate this, i think you can do a cool prequel story about young tony and still heavily feature dickie moltisanti (which i believe was the person they wanted to focus on most).

I really have no expectations for this but i am thinking im really gonna enjoy it

 

I just dont think they’d be making this much noise about gandolfini’s son if it was only gonna be a small cameo - i’m expecting a big role

 

I thought they wanted to focus on Junior??

 

I thought i read Dickie was one of the guys they wanted to focus on - could be very wrong haha

 

that's basically what I'm worried about, because as far as I understood it the film was originally about Dickie and young Tony was meant to have a supporting role at best, judging from the press for Michael compared to the guy who's playing Dickie, Tony is becoming the main character which is a movie I'm much less interested in seeing tbh

 

Dickie was pegged to be the main character when the movie was called Many Saints of Newark (Many Saints = Moltisanti)

 

Turn it into a biopic on a young Bobby Baccala.
