    1. That's true, and that's why I typically say in this thread that people shouldn't overreact every time there's a record broken for NFL contract. Like how I've said Dak will get close to $30 million and it's not necessarily indicative of his skill, just what the market is for a starting quarterback.

    2. But, this one requires a player who took a pretty good sized step backward in quality of play, so it requires gaining ground on something he might have lost, so that's why his in particular is interesting. For other players who are elite and stay elite, contracts will break records every year and it's not a big deal.

And yeah, to be clear as well, I think that's a bad contract because Collins both slipped in quality of play and got hurt, so it's way too risky, but I'm thrilled the Redskins did it, especially after they traded for Ha-Ha last year!

    Haha

Looking at the Patriots 2018 Starters...Only 2 were free agents. Most were drafted. Stephon Gillmore was the only big ticket FA. Lawrence Guy was a day 3 free agent. Trent Brown, Jason McCourty, and Kyle Van Noy were draft pick trades. That's remarkable and speaks to the "Free Agency is for depth pieces" concept.

Well that somehow makes the Greg Robinson one-year deal look good.

Guy looked like he wanted to be benched with how many false start penalties he took last year. Typical Cinci signing.

Whats funny is here is the Giants got diddly squat for the guy. Could have traded him before the trade deadline from an obviously failing team (1-7)...could have franchise tagged him for $10ish mil, which a team would have still traded for since the Redskins are handing him 3/$45mil.

Its one thing when the Patriots do it, because we KNOW they'll get 3rd round compensatory picks. Giants are gonna dip into free agency and screw this up and get nothing when a mid-rounder was available.

For example...they could have gotten a 4th rounder (or more) at the trade deadline like the Packers did.

I just don't understand how you would go out of your way to sign an ex-Giants o-lineman

I’m nervous about Flowers but it’s a huge need and he’s been good.

Don’t know much about Coleman but anything is an improvement on our secondary.

We’re going all in on defense. We probably draft another D-Line or Corner at 8 to finish up. Genuinely scared to watch our offense next year though

Giants cut Bobby hart cause he was awful andddd he was complaining that he wasn't getting enough playing time and bothering other players

Another fun Kwon Alexander fact is that he's missed 78(!) tackles since being in the league, or roughly three per million dollars he's being guaranteed. That works out to 1.7 missed tackle per game.
