Not too interested in HumbleBundle Store's Ubisoft sale, mainly because I seem to have already gotten a Far Cry bundle at some point (that included 1-3 and Blood Dragon), I should probably play the physical copies of Assassin's Creed 1-2 my brother gave me to see if I like it at all before buying any of the others in the series, I'm not too interested in Rainbow Six, and Watch Dogs isn't low enough for something I'm only mildly interested in, but I did pick up Child of Light for under 4 bucks, so that's cool.

Edit: while I'm here, GOG is having their summer sale of really cool looking old games I'd probably buy if I didn't already have a long list of games on my backlog that I'm more interested in. Classics like D&D, LucasArts, Unreal, Star Wars, Tomb Raider, X-Com, Elder Scrolls, Quake, Neverwinter, Myst, etc. They have this cool thing where when you buy stuff, you gain "XP" you can use to get free games.

Edit 2: Direct2Drive is having their summer sale as well. Looks like everyone's trying to get theirs in before Steam takes over.

  2. From a purely economical standpoint, is PC better or console? Steam Sales and the like are ridiculous if you're patient enough to wait for what you want, but you can't trade games in like you can physical copies. Pay more for a game when it comes out, play it, then trade it in for another game when that comes out?

yeah that's pretty much it. i've found having a console much easier because i don't worry about the hardware, graphic settings, etc. i just buy a game, trade it in when i'm done, and get another one. it's better on my budget. and with the PC there's not just the hardware to worry about, but the operating system itself among other things (software conflicts and updates, etc etc). i have a gamestop pro membership (it's only $15/year and considering how much I play it's been worth it, I've had it for two years now) so i get discounts and coupons and good deals all the time. like i'm going to trade in ME Catalyst and get $30 credit (it's $20 usually for pro members, but they're doing 50% extra credit right now until the 26th). so i'll be able to get DA Inquisition for free and IDK what I'll do with the other $15 yet. it's just much less stressful on me.

What is the consensus on Mirrors Edge Catalyst?

Debating starting Homefront or finishing up Dying Light

Also, depends what type of games you'll be playing. You can't play every AAA release on just any PC.

I've found console gaming fits my play style quite well.

i enjoyed the side missions and collectibles and i prefer the characters a lot more. wait until it's under $40 though. it's very short. not great, not terrible. i definitely do not think the storytelling is as bad as some people are making it out to be. it's much more memorable than the original. gameplay is overall pretty fun, but the combat needs improvement.

I just disarmed and killed 10 guards in a row in AC 4 for a side objective and it didn't count any of them. I'm upset.

I have been trying to follow the plot to Kingdom Hearts II closely but I have no idea what is going on. Who came up with these names for the members of Organization XIII?

Does Gone Home have a Plat? I thought it didn't and that's why Greg Miller gives Steve Gaynor shit for it?

I got the 1000GS in it though, not too bad at all
Gotcha, will keep my eyes on it for $30 or something. I enjoyed the first but wasn't the biggest fan, so no rush for me.

It doesn't and that is why he gives him shit.

To be fair, as much as I love the game, I definitely wish it had one.

I guess it doesn't, I just assumed. Yeah bought it for X1 and beat it and just feel like playing it again for Ps4 since it shouldn't take much time.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much of an impact Gone Home had on me when I replayed it. I was worried a two hour game that's all narrative might not be as strong knowing everything going in, and it still hit me pretty hard.

Yeah, if it didn't have the 1000GS, I probably wouldn't have invested the time I did into it. Good game for sure.
Gotcha, I bought it full price on Xbox One so....as much as I loved the experience, don't think I want to...put more money into it since I got maybe 2 hours of gameplay out of it for $20

Speaking of Gone Home, that game was incredible. Incredible in how simple it was and yet still made you feel. The atmosphere was superb. I played it on PC a couple of years ago and really want to play it again on console. It hasn't been on sale yet(that I saw) on XB1 yet.

In Gone Home I really thought you'd find your sister hanging in the attic so when that didn't happen I was just like oh she ran away ok whatever
