It’s just a bullshit apology before dropping a new album. It’s nothing. But as long as “the vibe is always right” or whatever they said when they dropped the tour who cares

 

All I know is the girl from Many Rooms jumped all over me on Twitter last year when I @'d Luke/Better Off about it when they released that new single. Kind of annoying that she's getting a chance to tour with Copeland... but whatever.

Yeah that Better Off apology means nothing three years later and simultaneous with the release of a new record. Just like they said, they had a choice to make at the time, they made the wrong one, and they defiantly stuck to their guns for three years before trying to mount a comeback. Nah.

 

I just don’t understand if you knew you were going to want to make music again why not do the apology and public statement thing BEFORE you ever crossed that bridge? It makes it look so beyond disingenuous to ONLY post it when you have music around the corner.

Yeah I don’t remember what the statement said but I remember it being bizarrely aggressive and leaving a bad taste in my mouth

 

Yeah, loved having friends of theirs jump in my replies after that first single to keep insisting the victim was lying but I guess they wanna tour again now so it’s apologies and we fucked up. Funny how that works

The bar is so fucking low for this shit, even implying an apology gets people trying to sweep shit under the rug for them. It’s not accountability, and their friends are enabling shit behavior.

So weird for like a pretty small band that’s been gone for three years, like this is such a low level power trip to have angry defenders. World is fucked.

Better Off is still to this day one of the WEIRDEST one of these situations. They deleted all of their social media, but Kayla Phillips' statement is still in this SPIN article: Bleed the Pigs’ Kayla Phillips Alleges That Bandmate David Hobbs Sexually Assaulted Her.

I'm utterly shocked. Typically they dig in and defiantly leave the thread up so "both conversations can happen at once" or whatever.

 

Really can't stress enough that this was over a guy they hired to play bass for a single tour and they BROKE UP THE WHOLE BAND to defend him and attack a black woman repeatedly for speaking her truth. Not to mention having their friends go after people again and again on social media the past few years.
