Just some of the craziest Weezer opinions I've ever seen in here today.

And I love it! Keep em' coming!

The second half of this album is beyond amazing. White Album is still their best in yeeeeears.

I love Maladroit but not more than Blue. Can't ever go that far.

  6. Literally the only bad thing about Blue are the lyrics to "No One Else." Otherwise, it's a perfect record

Who in the world puts Hurley in the top half of Weezer's discography?

I have it as their second worst (only ahead of Raditude)

I'm willing most people have it in the bottom 3 to 4 Weezer albums (out of 12).

What a tease, what's it say?

It has more good songs than, at this point, most of their albums

Yeah, I couldn't disagree more with this.

To pull an earlier (bad) argument, I think people who dislike Hurley are only doing it because that was an album a lot of people immediately shit on and no one gave it another shit

Like, I’m listening to this now and the first two songs are as bad as the worst on Hurley

Hurley is the one album I think I just don’t really have an opinion of. It exists, and I know that it exists, but it’s usually an afterthought

Thats me with PD and EWBA

I’d agree they’re in the same tier for me. None of the lows are that low, none of the highs are that high.

Theres a few seconds in Living in LA that I like, specifically him singing “It’s so lonely”

I love seeing the Maladroit praise. My favorite Weezer album after Blue.

Slave is probably one of my favorite Weezer songs.

Also just noticed that the music video for High as a Kite is at about a million views now. Pretty sure it took Can't Knock the Hustle a full month to reach that.

This album is officially also worse than Hurley. Hopefully the back half is good
    Edit: So far, it isn’t

This is where I stand after listening to Black earlier. There are pieces and songs I like from it (And PD), but it's not the same feeling I had with EWBAITE and White, as those two are untouchable for me. Could be why Byzatine is my favourite off the new release, too.

I noticed that when I finally watched the video earlier. It seems High as a Kite is a quick fan favourite, too. I was expecting more from it, but enjoy the second half of the song and video more so than the rest.

Talk of a lonely, isolated Rivers Cuomo, who in his forever-teenage way has even taken up consistent swearing, will entice plenty of fans to think of that long-awaited and never-to-be New Pinkerton. Weezer’s lyrics do feel more specific and thought-through on Black than, say, Make Believe, but even at their most melancholy, they rarely scan as directly confessional as they did back in 1996. Much of their material from the past 15 years, good and bad, is more apt to express (intentionally or not) the tension between what Cuomo thinks his audience wants or expects, and what he thinks he wants to give them. The cynical read of this would be that Cuomo is both hugely calculating and deeply inept at performing those calculations, but the experiments and strange asides on The Black Album don’t come across as trend-chasing so much as genuinely eclectic.

Man I’m bummed I don’t like Byzantine either. I’m not trolling when I say this may be my least favorite Weezer album aside from Raditude

On Hurley: Memory is a jam and a half, but I couldn't name another song on it. But it was also the first (and actually I think only) Weezer album I ever bought cus I was young and asked for it for Christmas, possibly just because I was really into Lost.

Is California Snow going to be my fucking favorite song on this album? Is that what you’ve done to me, Rivers?

I feel left out because I like tracks 1-8 on Maladroit as well as the closer but 9-12 are a slog for me to get through
