This. Metalik was on fire in that tournament. He was crushing it in every match and could have been a big deal. Instead we got shitty TJP as a face who had to dump the belt to Kendrick and the decline of 205 was in full swing.

Hell, most of the final 8 may well not be with the company by years end (ZSJ + Ibushi never signed, TJP/Swann are gone, is Darr even regularly appearing?)

 

well i liked his entrance, theme, and gimmick. I think you could've done a lot more with it.

Itami on the other hand... i dont think it was ever going to work

The answer here is live events. They have guys that are pretty much just for live events. Tye, Shelton, Hawkins before this Ryder thing, Ryder, Titus, Mojo and the list goes on.

The roster is split in two, the 205 guys don’t tour, they need people to fill out the card. And they try to diversify the card so it’s not just a bunch of singles matches. So they have triple threats or lumberjack matches.

Maybe if they show something, they get some time on tv. But if they don’t oh well, someone has to tour. Especially with the older vets getting lighter road schedules.

 

Xavier Woods would ahve killed with that gimmick. He'd have outdone Omega's game references x1000. Likewise, Ricochet is genuinely that freak athlete that's like playing a video game ("NXT's cheat code").

TJP's just boring.

Also, if they absolutely needed, they could have Tye fill in a feud for a bit if people are injured (see: R-Truth now that a decent portion of the midcard is out).

Likewise, when you're building a Braun type character, its good to have a Tye and Ryder and R-Truth as the initial squashes.

 

Guessing Roman is just back to pop ratings and sell the Rollins match. No way it's any meaningful update on his condition.

I wish I could even explain this match I just saw at the local fed. It was sooo rough. It was a tag team championship match. And it was like they found 4 guys who had never heard of wrestling before and showed them a 30 second clip and sent them out to have a match.

 

So it was a deathmatch?

 

If by deathmatch you mean kill the audience from boredom, then yes. It was a deathmatch
