I love this album but not as much as most. I think it’s an achievement to craft such a cohesive story throughout the album. But I rank the two albums that came before and the two that came after above it.

Fox’s Dream of the Log Flume
Extremely difficult choice but at the end of the day Fox's Dream is one of the highest highlights of this album. Hayley’s guest vocals and the whole premise is wonderful. And some of the most clever lyrics from Ten Stories. A true gem of a song - sorry Four Fires, you are a good song too.

All Circles
I love how this album ends - not sure how many will share my perspective but I do prefer this song to Grist.

Cardiff Giant
One of my favourites from a lyrical standpoint. I also love singing along to the chorus. Julian the Onion is very fun though.

East Enders Wives
This is a very tough decision but I’ve always loved the acoustic led vibe of East Enders Wives and I really love the “let’s give up sacrifice this Lent” line.

Nine Stories
Again, tough decision and I haven’t really got any comment to distinguish the two. Two great songs.

Really shocked at how many are voting for Nine Stories over Elephant. Gonna need to listen back.

 

East Enders Wives vs Figi Mermaid was the toughest choice this round. I love both songs but feel East Enders Wives is slightly better and more unique. Love the mood it creates.

 

Nine Stories was a slam dunk easy choice for me even though I love Elephant.

 

Nine Stories bridge wins it for me. The whole "Jacob knows a ladder you can climb" section is very well done and groovy.

 

I love Fiji a lot. That was my toughest choice too

I was going to say I was surprise by the votes for Elephant lol. Nine Stories might be my favorite track on the album and in my top tier of mwy songs. I do love Elephant though...

 

Yeah, listened back and while I do still like Elephant more, that transition is so good. I think I just forget about that song oddly enough.

Was really pulling for East Enders Wives. Figi Mermaid is great but the transition from Grist into this is awesome. The pacing and sequence on Ten Stories is perfect. Love how it blends upbeat songs, mellow moments, and classic mwY poetic creativity throughout.
