Oh man I’m flashing back to elementary school drama. I feel like this was a huge deal among teachers and I’m repressing something.

I will say she reminds me of a friend of mine who’s in politics who is a nice person and a good person but also very sarcastic and no-nonsense and I could totally see her saying something like this to a staffer one day if she ever holds elective office.

 

David I think you need new friends.

 

I will admit, that does not look good. I do wonder though if she was actually running late because that staffer was bad at their job. It is still a shitty thing either way, and managing that way is not my personal style, but I have worked for people who have handled things that way on a regular basis. That was just how they did it. It usually just leads to high turnover rate. You can only keep that up for so long before you get burnt out.

 

I've seen some people saying that if these reports were about a male politician, they would be praised for being tough and it's just a sexist smear, and even compared it to Warren being called unlikable. I'm don't really believe that is true (I know for me it isn't, from what I have read about this I don't agree with it as away to be handling and treating your staff no matter who it is).

 

I def think it wouldn’t even be mentioned much if she was a male...it’s still fucked up tho

 

I definitely do not think anyone should be treating their staff that way, but I wouldn't call that abusive. I would call that being a bad leader and manager, and I would advise anyone I liked not to work for them in any capacity.

I definitely do think their is a double-standard at play here with her being female. A male doing a lot of these things would be "driven" and maybe "demanding" but I don't think "abusive" would be getting tossed around quite so freely.

I honestly respect the shit out of him for not only encouraging his daughter to be herself but also taking part in his daughter’s interest, dude’s a solid dad.
