I re-watched Riding in Vans with Boys a few months ago - loved it. So many quotable lines from there I used with my high school friends for years.

 

I wanted the whole record to be in this vein, really disappointed by what that review said. I wanted fast punk rock songs with lots of cursing

 

I found it hard to take that review too seriously to be honest.

Edit: I just realized that the first time I ever listened to an Alkaline Trio song was because of the soundtrack of this movie.

That's the good part and why I love the age we live in so much. Being able to communicate with people from all over the world instantly and about any given subject still feels amazing. All the possibilities internet and social media have provided us, it feels like anything is possible. And the amount of information we can get for our own education is endless. Still, the down parts are always a bummer.

And I do feel like I enter this vortex you mention daily, so that's mostly why I deleted a lot of apps from my smartphone as well.

 

It read to me like it was written by someone who only knows blink from reading stuff on the internet. Maybe that's an unfair approximation on my part, but I didn't feel like that writer knew more about the band than what they've read since Tom left.

 

These are the same scumbags that hacked Shanna's twitter account and posted stuff like "My daughter is a whore" and "I deserve to die from cancer". Of course they're going to try to justify bullying. They're a bunch of immature little shitheads.

 

So my fiancé gets a new car today (2014 Ford Escape titanium suv). Get in the car to drive it home, turn on the radio and BTD is on. Ha!
