1) The Cure For Pain
Tough match up - The Cure For Pain is my favourite track from this album because I love the instrumental outro. One of the key highlights of this album for me. I love the Rumi poem references in this song too. Having said that, the passage in the middle of Be Still, Child that I love singing along to dramatically: MAYBE I WEPT REAL TEARS!

2) Everything Was Beautiful And Nothing Hurt
Every Was Beautiful is another favourite for me. I love the slow build up and then the explosion. I love that the circle lyrics are echoed back later on in the discography (All Circles). No contest here compared to the raw EP song. Shout out to these lyrics though: "I look up - there's a tree with a small brown bird. Even the sparrows have built a nest but we, poor fools, have built nothing." Convicting.

3) Gentlemen
I love the instrumentals but can't beat a real song, especially an old school mewithoutYou classic.

4) Silencer
No idea which song will win this first round but if I was to guess it might be Silencer. The lyrics at the end are one of the early moments of Weiss hitting me on a deeper and emotional level. This song is definitely superior to all versions of I Never Said I Was Brave (EP, album, acoustic, live!)

5) Nice And Blue
Going for Nice And Blue here due to the history with the sequel song later. I like the imagery at the end.

6) Bullet To Binary
Great opener with a French chorus and a dramatically emotional end. I mean, you can't beat that for a debut full length right?

7) The Ghost
Again, some great emotional lyrics that you just have to shout/sing along with at the end and join in with the drama.

Fall 2017 anniversary tour made me truly appreciate how good these songs are live, they are definitely not mwY at their best but they are their roots and I for one love this album.
