Bring back the Dean who just comes out and kills the Miz then walks right to the back.

 

Add in his feud with KO over the IC title that built that momentum for him to face HHH. Until AJ entered the picture, Dean was THE guy for a good 6 month period after Seth's inury. Hell, Id say it wasnt until Summerslam and that AJ/Cena match that he surpassed Dean completely.

So much of the writing for Dean's heel turn has been lazy. The germ shit, etc. The two promos that worked were the ones where he said he was done with the SHIELD because it held him back. Dude's character is incredibly simple to write and yet WWE screw it up so frequently.

Pretty much this. His motivation for hating Seth is simple...and that should have been the easy launching point for Dean to be the heel who wants to beat up all the underdog baby faces who think they just need a shot. And then you use an Elias or Strowman to put him in his place at WM.

 

Yah putting Romans leukemia into his promos didn't help either...

 

They screwed up AJ/KO the same way.

 

Lotta misplaced disrespect for Dean in here. He was THE GUY for almost a year, like the way AJ was or Seth was. He was the best thing in the company. He definitely has it in him, though he hasn't shown that in a long time.
