Direction is interesting, but the execution isn’t there.

Pretty much this. I dig what she's trying to do with this song, but it doesn't quite come together. It just needs some extra magic sparkle dust. I mean it's good, but it's far from amazing.

Came across this (great) artist on my Discover Weekly playlist. She sounds like a blend of old Grimes with MIA and it's really experimental but also catchy as hell. Highly recommended for y'all.

 

According to her twitter Grimes will be releasing a remix of WAP and a new song sometime this month.

Anyone liking We Appreciate Power and this snippet should listen to The Birthday Massacre. Alternative rock/metal with synthpop and industrial influences. Wouldn't be surprised if they were one of her inspirations for the new record.
