I'm surprised Louder Now has so few votes compared to the top two. I did vote WYWTB, but it was a toss up between that and Louder Now. Is it just this forum, or is Louder Now not as popular as I thought?

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Louder Now is pretty eh outside of the singles

I remember the first time I listened to Louder Now, I was embarrassed that I liked their first two records.

Wrecked 'em? Damn near killed 'em!

I’d like Louder Now a lot more if it were produced by someone else, and Up Against was replaced by either Brooklyn or Sleep. It’s an otherwise good album though.

    WYWTB hands down.
Louder Now is pretty fantastic too.
NA def has a bunch of jams.
TW was good but didn't hold my attention long.
TAYF is nostalgia at its best.

Can't really get into anything after Louder Now but I love those first three albums to death.

Production on that album has always bothered me, and I've never been able to put my finger on why. When I first heard the album and knew less about production than I do now (which is still nothing), it still sounded like an entire guitar track was missing from every track or something.

I think Eric Valentine’s production is a little too crisp for this band if that makes any sense. The guitar and bass tones are a little dull, the bass sits a bit too low in the mix and is EQ’d in a way where it hardly ever cuts through the other instruments, the snare drums don’t sound like real snares (imo) and the kick drum doesn’t hit you like you’d expect a kick drum to. I’ll give credit where it’s due though, the vocal mixing sounds great.
In terms of production: their best sounding records IMO (in no particular order) are WYWTB, Happiness Is and Tidal Wave. Everything sounds good and well mixed on those records, but they maintain a certain raw energy that works well for the band

After hearing Tidal Wave, Sapone can produce every album they make from now on and I’ll be happy with that

That sums it up well. I remember needing to bass boost the shit out of that album to be able to enjoy it.

New Again. You can’t beat that opening one two punch of New Again and Sink Into Me. Everything Must Go has always been one of the most emotional songs of any band really for me. It hits so hard every time I hear it. Definitely an album that brings me back to a specific time. I spent a summer loving that record. It was also the first album they released after I became a fan. I’d also like to shout out Swing. Another great tune.

Sink Into Me was the only song I could get into on New Again. The rest of the album was pretty boring I thought.

Haven't really been into TBS since Fred left, but have checked out every album they released out of curiosity. New Again was def my favorite post-Fred album.

Currently listening to these 3 albums in full and I’m at “All The Way” on Happiness Is, and damn, this is definitely one of the more underrated songs in their catalog.

The big blow out at the end is so satisfying after contained the verses and chorus. I love it.

Happiness Is and Tidal Wave are both incredible albums. For those who haven't listened in awhile, it's a good start to get back into the band,
