I'm moving back into the city in 3 weeks, I'll be living like 5 minutes walking distance from Kung Fu Necktie. A nice change of pace from living in Fairmount for 4 years.

 

Ended up missing the show cause our school's graduation took a little longer than expected, unfortunately. Hope you enjoyed!

 

johnny brenda's had a ton of firkins yesterday, so i hit that up... so good.

there are some pretty solid events all week.

 

i've been to a couple beer week events-- a luau, an Almanac thing, random fancies at Barcade... trying to limit it to weekend-only stuff though.

 

Absolutely crazy to me how gentrified Girard Ave has become in the past 7 years

 

I have lived in Fishtown for 24 years... It's insane it's the same neighborhood. When I was around 16 I got a brick thrown at me for wearing "tight pants". It really is crazy

 

east or west? although west is starting to get better, being renamed brewerytown

 

Lol right? I went to high school at Saint Joes and would drive Girard every day. Im working at the college now and just took the back way, it's reaching up to 17th

 

East is obviously gentrified by this point and I know Brewerytown is the next spot to blow. I'm talking like that in between stretch. Girard College through the El stop

Was at Union Transfer both Friday and Monday. I dig that little outdoor bar across from the venue.

I'm going to Penn's Landing (Festival Pier) for Taste of Chaos. Anyone know the best place to park? I don't mind paying.

 

i'm pretty sure there is a lot along Columbus Blvd, right near Penn's Landing

 

sometimes after work, we'll go to frankford hall. it's crazy to make the drive from hunting park/olney to fishtown and see how gentrified it's become. it's such a shift.

 

I'll believe that set was done by DJ Deejay? He's a lot of fun. He does a bunch of different types of shows, among my favorites is the 90s/00s dance party he has on Moshulu and at the Barbary.

 

Thinking of going to Jerry's Bar before Thrice tonight. Has anyone been or does anyone have suggestions for where to eat near the Fillmore?

 

there are great spots just a few blocks up on Frankford depending on what you're looking for. Johnny Brenda's for burgers or mussels. Cheesesteak spot across the street. Fine dining at Kensington quarters. Heffe for Mexican food. You can also walk over to Front Street for a few other spots. Sketch burger is up Girard Ave.

 

How is the Fishtown Joes?

booty sad has had some pretty good shows this year so far. i was also there last night for florist/mutual benefit.

what is everyone's favorite Free thing to do in philly? i'm trying to spend literally no money ever again (or at least until my next paycheck), but running out of stuff to do when i'm bored.
