Why can't SNL be this good every week?

I think the only weak part was the monologue, everything else was hilarious.

I don't know anything about Crenshaw or his politics, but it seemed like the rights approach for Pete & SNL. They were getting ALOT of shit for it this week, and this is veteran's day weekend.

His website shows where he stands on basically everything, and every bullet point is worse than the last. He’s absolutely horrible.

  4. Just got to WU, fun ep so far. Always love the Close Encounters sketches

Is it just me or was Halsey like, visibly lip syncing during that performance?

Hot take: the only enjoyable part of the close encounters sketches is when someone breaks. Otherwise they’re completely unfunny.

The first one was funny but it’s just the same sketch with different phrasings of the same jokes

I couldn't stop laughing at the incest twins bit even tho it was stupid

  9. I mean, yeah I mostly agree with this. That’s kinda why I love them, haha. You’re basically guaranteed a good break. That probably wouldn’t work for me if they did it every episode though

I’m fine with a recurring sketch of them breaking so long as they don’t run it into the ground like The Californians.

Not really a breaking sketch, but What’s Up With That was also a great, bizarre one-time sketch that they completely killed by doing it like 10 times within 3 years

Debbie Downer was another one where they tried replicating the success of the Lindsay Lohan one

Sometimes a good one off sketch should just stay a good one off sketch

What Up With That is an example of a sketch that I love every time and has an absurd enough premise to make each iteration still fun

I enjoy alien encounter more than What Up With That because of the restraint.

4 times in 4 years is a lot different than 10 in 3 haha. Plus once Sudekis left, What Up With That lost my favorite part

Also, getting Crenshaw on was strictly PR move

I miss that J-Pop America Fun Time Now. The one with Jonah Hill had me DYING.

Yeah honestly everyone involved with that segment should be ashamed of themselves. I suppose Pete was forced to do it to keep his job, considering how uncomfortable he seemed and the unscripted asides he kept making, but still. Should've never had him on, instead should've had Pete say something along the lines of "I'm sincerely sorry for making any kind of joke that could be construed as insulting his appearance, when what I should have said was . . ." and then go off on his white supremacy, his homophobia, his desire to rip healthcare away from working families, his hardline anti-immigration beliefs, etc. Instead they held hands with a literal monster on national television. Horrible.

Ah probably my favorite episode top to bottom. Mooney/Bennett sketch amazing...and Dave's outside womans bathroom was amazing lmao.

Small joke that had me rolling during house hunters sketch.."yard has plenty of room for my sister to run around" (cut to Heidi randomly running around happy). Haha idk why but that got biggest laugh from me.

    Finallllllllly a good episode

    "I'll chew on a dog!"

I was really into the Poddy Awards, fighting brothers, and Dave Outside the Women's Bathroom. "I didn't see you go in there, you musta been in there for a long time!" killed me.

Poddys was good but it had a lot of misses and were maybe a bit too specific for their own good. I liked most jarring commercial plug but the rest I didnt get

Honestly got a Monty Python vibe off of that cut, which hit home with me.
