Interested in how Butler fits in between Embiid and Simmons power wise. Feels like they both kind of want to be the main guy or whatever. Helps that’s Jimmy can produce really well off the ball.

 

Why? Because they’re In conference? 4 first round picks is such a bigger haul that Dario freaking Saric.

 

There hasn't been any issues with Embiid and Simmons. We'll see how Butler fits in but I am optimistic. Seems like his issues were fully with Towns/Wiggins/Thibs/Layden

 

I’m assuming the Houston picks in the 2020s were heavily protected, and the last two picks would come in 5 and 7 years. They wanted players who can play, not picks for the tail end of KAT’s prime. Not like they’re gonna win now anyways tho but it might save some jobs.

They didn’t want to take back Knights contract, especially without any way of unloading Gorgei at the same time. Also didn’t want to “create a super-team” in Houston.

That is what has been reported the last couple weeks anyway

 

Minny wants to win now and not in a decade when those picks would all be players. Classic short term over long term move.

 

If they’re heavily protected then sure. But four first round picks is a massive offer assuming light protections. And them being spaced out is even better because then you’re just waiting out CP3. Maybe it’s the NBA2K in me, but if I know I’m not winning anytime soon, 4 picks is way more valuable to me than Dario Saric. Oh well.
