  1. Exactly. It's the first record in a long time where the other instrumentation is handled well and given room.

I think that's what I was driving at - not at all a deal breaker for me... and it makes me feel better having both you and Jason - people whom I've grown to appreciate your insight and takes on music (and who have likely listened to the whole record numerous times) - speak so highly of the record as a whole.

Gotta admit, the vocal effect is definitely getting old for me already on these songs, I just love Andrew's voice so much and fuzzing it out, even just a bit, removes a lot of the silky smoothness that I love from him. I can imagine these songs are going to come off better live for me

  5. To be fair, there's an effect on Andrew's vocals on the last few albums and live too. It's just a smoothing one and not a little 'verb.

Yeah that's what I was trying to get at, it's this type that I am not enjoying as much.

It was jarring at first to me too for this same reason, but I’ve come to love it now. It work for this sound and I am on board

There's something nostalgic about everything Andrew writes. He's so good at capturing the intended emotions in his songwriting. I am very stoked for this album.

I just don’t see why it’s necessary. To me he sounds better without it. But nothing we can do

    all we have is time

I think the effect just lends itself well to these songs. Helps add to the nostalgic feel IMO.

It has nothing to do with his voice “needing it,” just a decision they obviously made in the production phase. I didn’t realize it was such an issue for some people. Just a little distortion/overdrive.. it’s not like it masks the entire tone of his voice

Keep forgetting it comes out tomorrow.

Also, setlist from the Dear Jack Benefit: Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness Setlist at Dear Jack Benefit Concert 2018 Loved hearing There, There Katie and She Paints Me Blue.

My friend and I ended up drunkenly buying VIP tickets for the CT show. Even though we are seeing him in Boston literally a day or two before that. Stupid.
