Lol MLB Network trying to make the draft a thing is so lame. There's no instant payoff with these players. It's not exciting at all.

I know this is one of my bad characteristics as a fan because I'm a Cubs fan and should really pay no attention to the Sox—or at least be not so openly hateful in order to root for Chicago being good above fandom—but I grew up surrounded by arrogant, ignorant, and obnoxious Sox fans in the south suburbs of Chicago, so I am very, very happy to watch them fall apart and see Shields blow up.

 

A-Rod please retire so we can bring Beltran back for a year as DH

 

Parmalee had a big night tonight.

 

I can't believe the speed of the pitches these guys get hit with. When I was a kid and played, I took a pitch to the left cheek and it was maybe 40-50 mph? Maybe even slower. I would die if I got hit with a 99mph pitch anywhere on my body.

 

I went to bunt for a hit when I was 17 and got drilled in the jaw by an 80 mph heater. Ended my baseball career. Not just physically, but mentally I couldn't step in the batters box again. When you mess around with pitches 15-20mph higher than that, you get into seriously catastrophic territory. If I didn't have an absolute miracle surgeon in the ER that day I'm not sure what I'd look like today lol.

This team really needs to stagger their hot and cold streaks. Never seen a team to this extreme where everybody is always hot and cold at the same time (Beltran excluded lol)

 

I hate the guy in your dynasty league that has 7 aces and still spends high to screw other people and pick up a pitcher that'll sit on his bench while his hitting is garbage. Worst dude.

 

So weird to me how a different team wants Kelly Johnson enough every year to trade for him. He was so unremarkable when I saw him with the Yankees.

 

It's the same team to be fair. And only cause it worked out last year

 

Haha I know. Still he should just get "Last Resort" on the back of his jersey.

 

A lefty bench bat who can play five positions in the NL is worth it, even if he's an unremarkable .250 lifetime hitter in his mid 30s. He was a good bench guy to have last year, so even with his crappy numbers this year, it's worth taking a shot on him. Plus, they only gave up Akeel Morris for him, who has really been disappointing in the minors each of the last three seasons and got lit up in his ML debut.

 

That came off meaner than I meant it too I suppose. He is useful obviously.

 

Really think the Mets could make a lot of moves if they want to, dragging Harvey in the dirt is such a ballbuster to couple that with.

 

The mlb draft is on, totally forgot! I noticed there's no thread, anyone else watching? Will be amazing if the mets somehow get Rutherford like the rumors say.

Yikes. Also glad you made it through. I wasn't too bad physically (it was like first year of kid pitch). Just really swollen. Got lucky and didn't have a broken cheek bone or orbital socket. Mentally is where it got me. I ended up finishing that season, but I was pretty gun shy, even with a cage on, and ended up quitting which I really regret now. Mentally now my dads more messed up from it than I am anymore.

 

Puk to the Marlins was too good to be true. No way they have him fall to 7 after the Dolphins got Tunsil in his slide.

The Angels have taken a catcher in back-to-back first rounds. How about some pitching!?

Edit: Looks like he's moving to first once he starts playing in the organization. I'm on board with that.
