Well it's a direct response to them consistently shoved into the biggest moments of the year. Fans are gonna give backlash when that booking happens.

When they're not, it largely goes away. Nikki did her thing with Cena in the mid-card at Mania for example, and nobody cared too much.

 

I just hate all the revisionist history with the bellas - they didn’t start the revolution they were one of the biggest problems with women’s wrestling

 

The women should get their own supplemental show. I know there’s too many titles already but women’s tag title and a secondary title would be good for them. There’s too many women that have nothing to do if they aren’t in the title picture. And a ppv like this would have been great to set it up.

 

The Hardy special was wonderful. It didn't have the stuff that made Impact's run effective, but worked on its own. I'd absolutely love more of this.

 

I think there is revisionist history on both ends, to be honest.

I'm not a big fan of playing the blame game. The Bella's WERE a part of the problem, yes. BUT they adapted. They trained their asses off to be able to get in the ring with girls who had been doing it on the indies for 5+ years. They are a product of their time, but not the end result. Sure, they suck, but they don't have the experience that these other women have. I give them a ton of credit for accomplishing what they have and surviving.

 

I’ve been going through reddit and I think it’s the most positive I’ve ever seen it.

 

Damnit...I had Nia/Ember in the BR finish (though with Ember going over)...then decided they might let an NXT woman win it to set up Takeover. Would have won if I stayed put.

Considering that in the 3 standout matches, 5 of the 6 people easily have 5+ years left if they want...and that the womens roster is filled with more than a dozen women under the age of 26 who can put on matches that caliber...its a really bright future for the women.

And considering the crowd they got, I think a womens stand-alone show might be a good thing.

 

I feel like this ppv was easily better than any of the shitty in between ones and I'm sure if you take out the main card women's matches of a lot of those ppvs they would be a match you probably liked on the card.

hell yeah, finally win a prediction card and it's the one that's just for fun

ended up missing ronda/nikki (not too upset about that, of course) but it was a decent show. the matches i thought would deliver did - toni is a star, i'm very curious to see where shayna/horsewomen and kairi/io(?) goes, and i actually believed we'd get super charlotte and am glad becky came away with it in a very good match albeit with typical last (wo)man standing pacing problems. it's hard to ignore the circumstances around this show with the thing coming up at the end of the week, and it's a shame that they didn't showcase the other hugely talented women of the company in singles matches instead of tags or battle royals, but it showed that an all women ppv works and absolutely should be a yearly fixture from here on out.

 

also pretty excited to check out hardy halloween after the positive impressions, could use some silly broken goodness in my life.

 

yeah this is easily the best PPV for WWE television of 2018

 

there was a much longer john oliver segment on wwe and crown jewel tonight. if I find it clipped, I'll post it

Watching Evolution now. Hearing the crowd grow into Sane/Baszler was great.

They're such a fantastic duo. Shame about the main roster nonsense ending.

Oh god did they dub boo's into Beckys Cutting Edge segment?

My goodness this crowd is so one sided.

After the dubbed boo's and the early commentary trying to play the Becky is a super heel and has alienated everyone narrative I was convinced Charlotte was taking it and got annoyed. Great match though.

 

Wait a second, in all the excitement of last night... Fabian Aichner won the Evolve title off Shane Strickland

 

I have a feeling the Network is about to get its upgrade. They were saying that the tiered model could be coming before the end of the year.

Is there any information out there about how the pricing will work? Hoping that if nothing else, I don't have to pay extra for what I already get.
