Yes that is very interesting yes.

I was secretly hoping the Dear Jack Benefit would be a Glass Passenger show. Wishful thinking on my part.

Did any of you happen to catch Andrews premier of another new song live on Instagram last night? I caught it midway through and it sounded amazing but when it ended he didn’t add it to his story or anywhere for fans to re-listen.

    Re: the Passenger re-press.

Not sure what to do, at this point. It's definitely a bummer that this is happening without his permission, especially given how much care he put into the Transit re-press. But Music on Vinyl pressings are typically very good and who knows how long it'll be before he gets to do his own pressing of this.

    Also:

It sounds like he tried to putt together something for the 10-year and it fell through because the label had already sold the license to Music on Vinyl. Ugh.

  6. That's awful. I kind of feel bad buying this now, but who knows if and when he'll be able to do his own pressing. If it happens I'll be glad to buy his version and slingshot this one into the sun.

Ha, kind of what I'm thinking. I've spent too many years staring at copies of this (and People & Things or Leaving Through the Window) going for $300 a pop on ebay.

I found a People and Things original pressing at a Half Price Books for $15 once. It was a great day.

I’ve never had a vinyl or a record player. Is it really worth it or is it just like a collectors thing?

Also nobody answered me earlier - did anyone else hear him debut another new song on Instagram live last night?

  10. I'd say it's personal preference. If you enjoy physical media and the experience of really focusing on music, I think it's worth it. I appreciate the artwork and care that goes into most vinyl pressings and the way vinyl tends to make music into THE entertainment rather than something that's on in the background. I find that I focus on and tend to enjoy albums on another level when they're on the turntable.

Sound wise, it definitely sounds great if you have a nice rig, but to be honest I don't find that it sounds appreciably better than listening to a digital album out of a good set of speakers.

As for the collector aspect, I personally am drawn to collecting and that is a big part of the enjoyment that I get from vinyl (as I'm sure it is for many). With limited/colored pressings, etc, it is easy to be enticed to own something exclusive/rare/potentially valuable. But that can also lead down a rabbit hole of spending a lot of money haha.

I'd say if the physical experience and/or collector aspect don't especially appeal to you, it's probably not worth the investment for a turntable/speakers/records/etc.

I don't have the Instagram so I did not hear the new song last night.

  13. I wonder if this is the same arrangement that will be on the album. This version sounds very People and Things-y

He said that fans should buy it if they want this on vinyl because he's really not sure he'll be able to work anything out. He wants to do a big two-disc thing with all the b-sides like he did for Everything in Transit, but the deal the label offered him was basically unaffordable.

That is exactly what I was hoping for with a 10th anniversary edition. This album has some great b sides

Seems like the Bull Moose preorder sold out. I'm seeing it available on this German record site HHV. Anyone ever order from there? Other than the shipping costs, it seems legit.

Every Andrew album has a song on it that I don't connect with at first, but then a while later I'll hear it and it just clicks and becomes one of my favorite songs. Love and Great Buildings just became that song from Zombies. Maps for the Getaway before that.

Even though I haven't LOVED any of the new stuff released, I'm hoping someday down the line one of them surprises me on my 342nd listen.

the end of "Teenage Rockstars" makes me feel like I'm on mushrooms when I'm not.

also unrelated but I was looking at the lyrics to "Into the Airwaves" on his site and the line "But Something's not so right inside" has 'S' in something capitalized in an obvious reference to the turmoil in Something Corporate I never realized
