I have lyrics from Alk 3’s “San Francisco” (a heart floats in the bay) tattooed on me as part of my CA tattoo (outside of the state outline and a heart encompassing the Bay Area) and thought that Matt was a good dude at the time when I got it a few years ago but also one reason why I didn’t want to get a full Alk 3 tattoo was in case some bs went down.

 

I have 3 alkaline trio tattoos now and Brand New tattoo,trust me,I don't give a shit what people will ever think.Its no one's business

 

He’s obviously not a completely evil man, don’t feel bad for your tattoos. He seems genuine and nice when dealing with most fans and that counts for something. But he’s also misguided and ignorant on this, clearly, and that’s disrespectful and disappointing, especially as he doubles down on it. He’s not a parallel to Jesse Lacey or anything, but he’s clearly not perfect and has growing to do. I hope he can learn and come out of this with more understanding. But I don’t think you should feel bad at all.

 

Just in general, a common problem I see with both him and Travis is that they are almost too loyal. A strong sense of loyalty is a great thing to have, but both of them seem to have a hard time separating themselves from people who do shitty things (and feel the need to defend them). Once they form any sort of bond with a person, having their back is like the most important thing for them regardless if they've done some terrible things. It's kind of bizarre at a certain point.

 

I feel like Matt is probably acting out of loyalty and just sheer ignorance. That's just my own passive estimation.

Which yes, it's hard to watch somebody you respect uphold another person who is easily indefensible. But also you have Matt Skiba's art tatted on you, not him. So I wouldn't worry. Just like people who have BN tats, I don't judge them on what the creator does behind closed doors.

Can't beat yourself up over tattoos, IMO. Plenty of people here have Brand New tattoos. You don't know what you don't know.

I have two and he pretty much verbatim called me a "shitty ignorant woman" for not agreeing with him once out of a whole ten years. Not feeling great about it right now. It seems right now his "loyalty" only extends to women he wants to plow.

Unless there was a second set of deep cuts from TOYPAJ and earlier, I wouldn't feel inclined to go. I've seen Blink play 10 out of 12 of those songs already so it wouldn't be that special of a show to me... But yeah, throw in the incentive of early songs/deep cuts, and I'd be pumped for it!

Just a shower thought.

Enema is my fourth favorite blink album and I’ve heard most of the songs multiple times and Matt and Travis are assholes so nah

 

I’d feel weird having an anniversary tour without Tom but it’d also probably sound bad with Tom so I’ll pass

 

I’d see a TOYPAJ show.

Personal iteration which I don't feel comfortable going into every single detail publicly here, for him to specifically call out woman confronting him about this when it isn't even a woman whose comment he's responding too, is vile. The reason woman are confronting you about this is because they experience abuse on a daily basis at a disproportionate rate and it sucks and hurts to see someone you thought you could trust and was an ally shitting all over that.

 

Matt and Travis need to go to the hoppus school of media training. Oof.
