Never thought I'd see a The 1975 song compared to the Goo Goo Dolls. After seeing the 20th anniversary tour for Dizzy Up the Girl this week and being reminded how much I've missed that music from their heyday, this is incredible news. They pull influences from so many 90s genres, I guess it was bound to happen eventually.

 

I think this is why I was so pulled into their music so fast. I am so excited for this now!

 

I’m glad Matty realized that double albums can be a chore and is just giving us 2 in a few months apart.

Also so many lyrics from the songs released hit me too hard. Listening today and “I’m assuming you’ll ballon when you remove the dirty spoon and start consuming like a human” hit me.

 

its probably also because i think they see what a lot of hip hop artists and rappers are doing with just having like an album out every year, people like constant content, and if you feel like you can deliver that, you should give it a try. I feel like this band puts so much effort into everything that they do, and people really vibe with that.

 

Additionally, bands like Black Sabbath and Rush pushed out an album a year for a while. It's rock n roll to do that lol

 

i mean not to compare them to the beatles but their entire discography happened in what like 7 years lol

 

R.E.M. spent the 80's putting out an album every year and it definitely contributed to their 90s superstardom
