For some reason, I remember seeing a music video for a band like 14 years ago and I could've sworn that sum 41 was featured playing along, does anyone know of this or maybe it's just a memory mixed up, but I've been trying to find it for a while..

Also, after a few more listens of Rabbit Hole, I really dig the verses and bridge, chorus isn't my favorite.. This song reminds me of MH 4.18.2011 with a TOYPAJ sound, maybe online songs

  2. @Jason Tate I can't even imagine how many demos or promo CDs you must have gotten from amateur pop-punk bands back in the early days of AP. I hope you kept them all.

Back when I was staff at AP, I wrote a really nasty (but funny) review for Runner Runner and took so much heat from their fans. I used to get a lot of hate mail on every social media platform people could find me on hahaha

Even got an email from two of the band members. They were cordial, but not pleased I called them out for basically being phonies and using that band as a cash-grab.

General consensus is that some people like it but it's not as good as BTD and some people aren't quite on board.

    Give what you can.

This probably isn't it but I remember Sum41 doing a song with Ludacris once. Was weird.

That's why you just tell him "I'd love to argue with you, but I won't fall down that fucking rabbit hole with you again".

I might be alone in this, but I feel like if Enema was released today I would not like it. I don't even know the last time I listened to that record.

TOYPAJ I dislike even now, so I know I wouldn't enjoy it if it came out this year by another band.

Untitled I'd probably glance over but not listen to after a couple listens.

I wonder just how much my interest in this band is fueled by nostalgia hahaha

Haven't scooped through the last few pages of this thread, but I swear, if Rufio's "Above Me", "Science Fiction" or "Out of Control" aren't in here............

Thank you. I had forgotten their names - Nick and Ryan were both legitimately pissed at me for my Runner Runner review/dig. I still stand by my stance. That band was utter dogshit and they only did it to make money.

I obviously want blink to write the best music they can but I really don't get this notion that they constantly have to be writing concept albums or really hard hitting emotional investments that have underlying tones an themes much darker than the songs overall impression.

Didn't they make some video saying it's OK if you didn't like their music or something? lol

I was so excited for Runner Runner after DLD's split, and holy shit did they ever fail to deliver.

Back to underappreciated bands with great opening riffs?

@Jason Tate and I might begin making these threads to hang out alone hahaha

Ok good haha. Rufio is pretty much THE reason I started playing guitar (along with Lagwagon I would say). When I was 15, I sat down the summer that The Comfort of Home came out and learned every single guitar part (by ear) and made the tabs for the whole record. I think it's probably on a tab site somewhere, if I had to guess.
