I also love the hell out of "Dance, Dance, Christa Paffgen"

Looks like I am going to be listening to my Anberlin Playlist for the afternoon

I didn't say THE best, but definitely in the top half of their discography. I actually agree about your first two choices.

i’ve been meaning to tell you

Seeing them play that live on their final tour was one of the highlights of my life. Probably my favorite song of theirs.

Lowborn is an album that was pieced together kind of haphazardly for the purpose of getting a "last" album out, which is what it sounds like

I definitely agree with you on the recording. Songs like “Dissenter” literally goes nowhere and feels half baked which makes sense when I read about how the song even made it onto the record.

I think most of the songs are just alright but they could have been something greater with the proper attention and studio care.

If this is happening (maybe a new record too) I'll be happy for the next 5 years or so! Damn, I miss this band.

DDCP is one of their best songs for sure. About my lowborn comments earlier: I like the album. Probably would rank it 4-5.

"Retrace" just takes me back to 2009, living in PA with the most miserable man on earth and wishing I could just pack my shit and go back home to Boston.

Well I looked Joseph's instagram, and his hair and beard now matches with the picture, so it was taken not long ago. But with everyone having kids and families, I doubt a bit, that they would return to touring. But one more album would be amazing.

Thought about putting DITW above lowborn, then I remembered that We Are Destroyer exists. What a jam. This band's openers are always so good.

DITW definitely loses points because of that awful awful (awful) album title. Blueprints is a pretty awful title too, but there's so much nostalgia I have attached to that album.

Lowborn has a couple clunkers but most of that album is fantastic. "We Are Destroyer" through "Atonement" is a very strong run.

Also a lot of people hate on Dissenter and, while the execution may not have completely been there, i appreciate what they tried to do on it and them going out of their comfort zone.

I was just thinking the other day that I totally trust anberlin to come back and put out progressive, meaningful music, so I don’t care at all about any breakup promises.

Also, lowborn is all great all the way through. I remember first hearing dissenter and thinking “man the people that want heavier anberlin are gonna be so stoked,” and then everyone shat on it... I friggin love it.

Those last 2 are definitely my favorites.
