true spaceballs vibes from both that passcode and that whole fucking conversation, christ

  2. I'd have loved it if Kanye had crushed Trump's windpipe right there in the Oval Office in front of everyone, but instead he gives the heinous, racist, rapist piece of shit a hug. It's over. Everyone go home.

Because like with Caitlin she just sees it as a difference in opinion and I think she thinks she's supposed to be supportive of her husband

  7. Honestly Kanye essentially saying he likes Trump because a female president would have alienated him makes a lot of sense and tracks with his long history of misogyny

I think she doesn’t want the door shut on her getting people out of jail but I don’t think she agrees with him on a lot of these things personally.

  11. why isn't he just using Face ID instead of entering in a passcode?

  12. maybe he doesn't know how to use Face ID?

because when you're ultra rich you have the privilege of chalking things up to "everyone has their own opinion" also in the last year they've both gained access to an audience with the president which is a big perk of being a poet couple.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

  15. Fucking hell this poem is a bit racist. Just Kanye and Jay(-)Z is it? No white people with inflated egos he could mention is it?

I think it was inspired by the way Kanye describes himself, or I don't know he was in his early 80s could have been that too

i don't think that leonard cohen poem is leonard cohen saying he's better than kanye and jay. i think it's saying that great popular artistic movements don't belong to artists but to the winds of social change they ride on (maybe. it may also just be obtuse and funny). the last line is fucking haunting

Within the same article, T.I. retracts his statements and has been releasing music and speaking publicly in opposition to Trump since he’s been elected. Not saying that negates his initial stance but he’s grown since then.

Diddy is not happy either. I hope all these people slap some sense into him at this point.

At his point he’s got Trump’s support. Kanye doesn’t care about his friends or fellow artists. Using his own words, he “doesn’t care about black people.” Kanye only means to cement his legacy to be remembered. Although I do hope more artists refuse to work with him (mostly thinking of Chance).

Someone made a post the other day that if he desired real change, then he’d be speaking with grassroots activists and working from the bottom-up. He’d be offering his time to organizations for social change, speaking with figures like Kaepernick and groups like BLM and NAACP. He’d be meeting with black families who have lost fellow family members (to either prison or murdered by the hands of racist police). Kanye only cares about Kanye, and this was all a ploy to steal the spotlight of American conversation once again. It’s really sad but not unforeseen at all.

It’s not unforeseen in hindsight. But anyone that predicted this before the Pablo meltdown I’d like to see it.

  23. He's been lowkey showing himself as a misogynist for years, but I don't think anyone could've predicted THIS before that. Maybe from the first Trump endorsement, but...

Always do the right thing. Supporter

Predicted, specifically, that he'd support Trump? I don't know. But it's not like there weren't people very validly critiquing him for awhile now. I'd seen many critiques of his desperation for acclaim from white, establishment figures and institutions. "BILL COSBY INNOCENT" encapsulates so much of the mentality that led him to Trump. It's clear a lot of people ignored the problematic trajectory for a long time until it explicitly became Trump support. I'm not excluding myself from this, I defended or downplayed things he said or did that I shouldn't have because I loved him more than any other artist I engage with.

    The spiciest meme

It's funny because it's kind of tied into the state of the country as well. Trump didn't magically make the country fucked up, the country was fucked up before Trump. That's how we ended up getting Trump. Likewise, Kanye wasn't this pure innocent soul until the big baddie Trump CORRUPTED him. There was a solid foundation of shit leading up to this.
