This is one of several reasons it's the best song they've put out in a decade. I can't decide whether the chorus or ending is more brilliant.

I didn't realize C&C ever played Coachella.....this performance was pure awesomeness.

Love Protocol demo is called "Love Protocol Alt Chorus" fyi and it's significantly different.

There is no Prologue demo because Dark Sentencer was intended to include it but they decided to break it up because they didn't think people would want to listen to it every time.

Funny seeing him play Welcome Home on an Explorer

Lol, in the YOTBR doc Travis talks about how it's BS for bands to not work with a producer.

First listen through TCBTS since TUC came out. This record is definitely missing "something" but it's honestly enjoyable for the most part. The one thing it does better than TUC is differentiating the songs well. There's not two songs that really sound alike. Only having 10 songs was perfect for this kind of release, and I'm sure working with producers helped. I even liked Young Love this go 'round, it's normally my least favorite. Lazy riff, but the melodies are really nice.

I think my favorites so far (besides the singles, I love all the singles) are Toys, True Ugly, Love Protocol, Pavilion, and It Walks Among Us. I wish there was a little bit more variability in guitars, but damn Clauidio's melodies are all top notch.

After more listens, "Pavilion" is the one track I wouldn't hesitate to cut from the tracklist to make the record stronger.

The title track and "All on Fire" are also low points for me, but arguably serve a purpose in the pacing and sequencing. Whereas coming on the heels of "Love Protocol," the last thing the record needs is more super cheesy bubblegum in that slot.

I like both songs (Love Protocol a lot more) but yeah putting them back to back is a bit strange.

Putting them back to back is the best part of the album, lol.

If I HAD to cut a song it would be Queen of the Dark. But I don't wanna cut anything.

I believe Pavilion was the first song Claudio wrote for this album, but before he'd actually devised the Vaxis story line. That's why it seems a little out of place in some ways. The title track is actually one of my favorites, though I wish there were more of the programming from the intro throughout the rest of the song.

I think it'd be cool if Lucky Stars were a couple minutes longer, maybe with even more strings and orchestral flourishes. One of my favorite aspects of IKS is how it's bookended by two lengthier tracks.

Pavilion is great. As I’ve said previously, the stretch from Love Protocol through to the Gutter is my favorite stretch of the album.

Yeah I'd be onboard with that. I'm torn because "Old Flames" seems like a much more appropriate closer, but I really like "Stars" and am glad it wasn't cut completely. It probably could've been expanded into something even stronger, though.

Really digging this record. Vinyl packaging is great. My initial listen through was my favorite since GA1.

Also, if anyone wants a download code, I'll pass mine to the first person that needs and quotes this.

Yeah, if I had to cut one track from the album, I also would have picked Pavilion. Only track off the album I don't really care for.

I really like The Pavilion. I'd cut the title track.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

hot take: I'd just leave every song where it is

Making my way through Afterman. Domino into the Afterman feels very similar to Dark Sentencer into Unheavenly Creatures. I like Afterman more though. Also hoo boy Gravity's Union. That ending still gives me chills.

EDIT: Really don't like Iron First. It got way too produced. I like how the album ends though, Dark Side of Me and 2's My Favorite 1 are really good.

How are there any more posts in this thread after this one?

When a comment this hot hits a thread, the place should clear out for a while until it cools down.

Ending of Gravity's Union is a top 10 moment in Coheed's discography. Also agreed about Iron First.

One of my favorite Coheed moments is around the 4:00 minute mark of Fuel for the Feeding End where it switches from proggy soup into a classic rock jam for the ages. The second half of that song is just phenomenal
